Toys R Us released the “first ever brand film” created with SORA, OpenAI’s flagship generative AI model, to share the story behind the famous American retailer. Does this commercial indicate an increase in brand adoption of GenAI?

Generative AI still can't correct the letter R

The big question is can AI touch our hearts? Technically impressive here, but the jury is still out. I'd love to see a collaboration between Sora and an incredible Cannes winning director. All of my sass aside, nice and brave use of the new tech. 🤓🎸❤️🦘

I try not to be hater online but this is wack! Compare this to this ad about the creation of virgin: https://youtu.be/1GYiCvxkkYs?si=Lz2iPWdtfADH5bk0 It’s not even close.

this looks like 20% SORA, 80% human clicked motion graphics.

Technologically, it's impressive. Technically, it doesn't make good use of rhythm and pace. Neither of framing, too many close-ups. And personally, it's eerie.

Great proof of what AI can do. Just a bit weirdo the look n feel, but will reach next level quite soon I suppose…

Maybe. Or could this be just a successful attempt by Toys R Us to great buzz for its brand?
