I’m saying goodbye! It’s hard to leave a job you love but it’s time to do something new and exciting. Executive search is an awesome career. You can have a voice at the table when some of the most important decisions a company will make are being debated. (After all, it’s the people that matter most.) I’ve heard the personal stories of candidates, each unique and special. I’ll be sharing more in the coming weeks, but first I want to thank a few of the people who have made my life so fun. I’ve had hundreds of clients throughout my career who made me laugh and made me think, many of whom I consider friends. Laurent Potdevin, Glen Senk, Richard Marnell, Karen Kwan, Imran Jooma, Wan Ling Martello, John Replogle …. I always looked forward to our calls. You’re the best! Over the years I was lucky to work with amazing entrepreneurs who have changed our world for the better. Steve Jobs, Vinod Khosla, Tor Hagan, Fernando Madeira are just a few. I’m excited for the next generation who inspire me with their brilliance and work ethic, people like Nathaniel Corley & Alicia Lamb Stein. It’s been fun to see you in action. The world is better with you in it. The people I’ve met in my career have introduced me to experiences and causes that were life changing. The organization PTTOW! (Plan To Take On The World!) was a big part of my life for the past 15 years. Without PTTOW! I wouldn’t have met Roman Tsunder, Greg Kahn, Steven Wolfe Pereira ⚡️, Katy Saeger, In-Q, or Baron Davis, all of whom made my life much more colorful. PTTOW! introduced me to the gun safety movement. Gun safety progress is drips on a pebble. The incredible people I worked with to try to make a difference included Carolyn Everson, Kristin Lemkau, Manuel Oliver, Ron Conway, Po Murray, Missy Godfrey, Steve Kerr & Katie Couric. Your hearts and commitment are humbling. For anyone considering a career in recruiting, you’d be smart to join SPMB Executive Search. There are NO better leaders in the biz than Dave Mullarkey, Mike Doonan, Eamonn Tucker & Kevin Barry. None. Finally, how great it is to work with people you respect as humans as well as co-workers. Tierney Remick, Denise Kramp, Nicole (Freitas) North, Aaron Azpiazu, Carol Lipof, Ross McLaughlin, Pete Delaney - I couldn’t have survived without you. I'm sure that this is bittersweet Becky; your thoughtfulness, intelligence and empathy has been a gift to your clients and made a difference in the world. I feel so fortunate to have met you through our GSA work and appreciate all of the support you gave me while I was in the ED position. I'm excited for you and look forward to hearing what's next - you know that I'm a huge champion for re-invention (or as my former boss Chris Boskin call it "repotting!").
