UX/UI Unpaid Internship. What to expect, what not to expect, what to ask for.
This story is going to be about my experience as a UX/UI intern, and some advice on what to expect, what not to expect and what to ask for, ideally.
What’s supposed to be a given: you’re giving away your time, effort and the knowledge and expertise you have, exchanging it for some experience you can gain in the field of your interest, and of course learning something new along the way, this part is key.
In my case it was UX design, so I’m going to briefly give notes about what I’ve learned about that.
What to expect: you are going to learn something new and get some new experience in one way or another, now the quality of that will depend on the organization.
You are going to provide some work for free, the amount of hours will be agreed with your employer, that also determines how much you’ll learn in a way.
In my case I worked 20-40 hours weekly (mostly 40 hours), yes I worked a lot and was living off my savings. Read on on Medium…
