Being a great leader doesn’t mean having all the answers. In fact, the opposite is usually true. It’s about nurturing, guiding, building, and empowering others work together to find the answers. #leadership #teams
Meet Sam Streitman, our dedicated UX Design Lead on the product team, who's been with Terakeet for over three years. Her journey, she says, is guided by a belief that doing what you love makes work feel effortless. This mindset led her from engineering to UX design and into a leadership role. As a leader, Sam's vision is clear: highlight the value of UX to our organization and clients, and foster a collaborative work environment. She's excited to see how our team dynamics continue to evolve and impact our work. Congratulations, Sam, on being a true leader in action! #LeadersInAction #TerakeetTeam #UXDesign

Don't miss this year's UX Metrics to Drive Your Organization Intensive. Here's what A.W., Senior User Experience Manager, had to say about last year's intensive: "I've had the pleasure of participating in last year's UX strategy series hosted by Jared. Jared ran sessions every day with discussions focused on topics of UX leadership and strategy, along with shared experiences and lively Q&A. He kindly took my question about the challenges of UX leadership for young or start-up organizations, bringing in the concept of Product-Market fit. This concept is spot on for companies that need a nimble UX strategy. If you are a UX leader or interested in UX leadership, I highly recommend joining." Design collaboration inefficiency costs teams and companies. As you plan for '24, consider how you can improve collaboration and amplify your teams' impact
Thanks to everyone who contributed their perspectives! Changing this begins with getting internal clients or informal team members in other areas like IT and product or business to have empathy and understanding for what UX can do. A great way to do this is to have all these diverse groups participate in a design thinking sprint or empathy experience TOGETHER. When they see the power of each step, it's transformative and they become advocates. It changes minds from "build this" to engaging partners in finding the right problem to solve and developing the best solution! If you'd like ideas on empathy exercises, how to create a live practice design thinking sprint for cross-functional teams, or to attend our free webinar on empathy, reach out.

Walking the earth. You know, like Caine in "Kung Fu." Just walking from place to place, meeting UX people, getting in adventures.
To all the UX and product designers, researchers, and managers: What do you want to see or hear from your design leaders at work? What's been great? What needs to change? What do you want to see more of? Or less? What's missing? The floor is wide open on this one. I'd love to hear your thoughts, regardless of your function, level, industry, location, or employment status. If you have thoughts you'd rather share in private, please drop me a connection request with a note, and we'll chat! #GreeneThoughts #UXMaturity #UXLeadership
