Director of Horticulture at The Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy

My family recently visited Bedrock Gardens in NH. The public garden creates an amazing experience for visitors. The blending of native and ornamental plants is wonderfully balanced. It appears to be designed with thoughtful intention; highlighting the natural beauty of the property’s woodlands, meadows and ponds; leading with longviews that unassuminly guide you between spaces. Another observation is how the Garden is tastefully peppered with whimsical art, some of which to literally house climbing vines or reflect flowers in contorting mirrored surfaces. One of the creators, Jill Nooney, was kind enough to sit down and shared some insight for the Stumpery and how it is managed. It was helpful since we are considering a similar interpretation for The Greenway. This biodiversity-supporting element was intriguing to look over, seeing all the life holding nooks and crannies was inspiring, too. If you have an opportunity, I recommend visiting Bedrock Gardens. Enjoy! You can follow @anewmomintown on Instagram for similar posts about engaging family outings!
