Today we are happy to celebrate Maritska Aarts’ 25th work anniversary at Brunel. Maritska is one of the founders of the Brunel Foundation. What has started as an HR internship at one of our regional offices in 1999, turned out to be a long career of a quarter of a century at Brunel. Over the years Maritska has worked in different HR roles in the Netherlands. Since 2012 she’s one of the driving forces behind the Brunel Foundation. This role suits her like a glove. She achieved great milestones, such as the organization of many autism awareness initiatives, Volvo Ocean Race kids event, #Trash ‘n Trace cleanups, #BrunelFoundationForest and most recently the inspiring #ConciousDress. Maritska has contributed in many ways to Brunel. She’s capable of connecting people with her bubbly and thoughtful personality. Besides, her intelligence, creative mind and work ethic made her flourish. The #ConsciousDress wraps up a very exciting upcycle month by diving into the #AI world of #Prunella vulgaris, better known as the #Brunel flower. This flower is hardy and adaptable, thriving in various conditions. This ‘Brunel DNA’ is exactly what our specially formed team has shown. They dared to put themselves to the test and invested their effort into unknown territory. After all, unlocking talent isn’t just about individual skills: it’s about creating collaborations in which people thrive together. By connecting their abilities, we unlocked a wealth of creativity to bring the ConsciousDress to life.   Thank you Amanda Linger, Jorik Jol, Paul Haller, Marc Watson, Venetia Fong, Femke de Klerk-Evers, Marloes Kemps, Dennis Eijck, Sam Kerkhoven, Maritska Aarts and Femke Dijkstra for bringing the ConsciousDress to life. Have you ever traveled from the Netherlands to Glasgow by train? We did! It wasn't just a trip but a mission to inspire new habits among our colleagues at Taylor Hopkinson | Powered by Brunel in Glasgow. They all rolled up their sleeves for a Trash 'n Trace cleanup and prevented over 33kg of plastic, waste, and forever chemicals from finding their way into our oceans. 🌊♻️ Cleaning up is so much more than collecting litter; it’s about inspiring each other and building new habits.
