Be sure to take this survey to have your voice heard!
Routt County Planning is currently updating our Zoning and Subdivision regulations. Community engagement and receiving feedback are crucial components to better understand what the community feels is working, what’s not working, and what you would like to see from a regulatory (land-use) standpoint. We invite you to complete the Pulse Survey https://lnkd.in/gbuiQWpg and share your thoughts!

What an invigorating morning it was at the #Edcon conference! Our team had the honor of joining forces with the insightful Brett Waller and the dedicated members of the Seattle Police Department for a panel discussion on a cause dear to us all: Community Safety. In our conversation, we delved into ways to enhance the safety of our residential communities. We discussed a range of strategies, brought our collective knowledge to the table, and concentrated on the newest methods, technologies, and resources. Our aim was to bolster neighborhood safety, working hand in hand with community partners and leveraging available resources. However, this is merely the beginning of a much larger conversation. We believe in the power of community and collective wisdom. So, we're curious: What are your best tips for fostering safety in multifamily communities? Share your strategies and experiences below. Let’s continue the dialogue and together, create safer, more secure neighborhoods. #CommunitySafety #SafetyFirst #multifamily Washington Multi-Family Housing Association

People are talking! Are Yemi Mobolade and the City of Colorado Springs listening to its residents concerns? I watched the District 2 tour video all the way through and took some notes on what I thought and others thought was important. A lot of people felt NOT heard. So I filled out the city's online survey myself. You can too! Online survey for the 2023 Listening Tour with Mayor Yemi & City Council: https://lnkd.in/gEtWjC8X Summary of what I got from the Disctrict 2 tour video: citizens want transparency and increased citizen input, increase in public safety, and have overbuilding/infrastructure and water concerns. They brought up already having a lack of teachers and bus drivers. Yemi seemed to downplay the city communication issues and labeled "smart growth" as citizens' biggest concern. He also reiterated needing a larger police force. On February 15th, the Alliance for Public Space Leadership (APSL) celebrated the one-year anniversary of Mayor Adams’ appointment of New York City’s first-ever Chief Public Realm Officer, Ya-Ting Liu. The celebration brought together more than 60 advocates from over 50 organizations who have collectively been working to improve New York’s public realm. At the convening, APSL members vowed to continue to push for a fair increase in the City’s budget for the public realm to ensure less-resourced neighborhood parks and plazas are cared for; an increase in capital investment in streetscapes, plazas, and parks throughout all five boroughs; reform of the City’s permitting process to ensure trusted community partners can activate and enrich their public spaces during block parties and Open Streets; and a plan for ensuring the position of Chief Public Realm Officer as well as a larger office of the Public Realm is codified for longevity and success beyond this administration. The Alliance for Public Space Leadership will continue to support and push the City to develop a long-term and holistic vision for public space for everyday New Yorkers. Read the full statement here: https://lnkd.in/eZesYPdv Also stay tuned for more information about the coalition’s 2024 agenda. #publicspace #publicrealm #newyorkcity

Very interested in this evidence-based discussion as to how zoning can change to allow the housing that communities need- looking forward to it! #housingsupply #zoning #planning
Mark your calendar for 2/5 @ 3:30 p.m. EST and join Urban Institute and guests as we discuss how states and localities have embraced zoning reform, the evidence supporting the effectiveness of upzoning, and other policies that should be paired with zoning reform to achieve racial equity and social mobility through housing. The event will feature a dialogue among researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and advocates about the main barriers to passing and enacting zoning and other types of pro-housing reforms and strategies to overcome them. Our speakers will draw from their expertise and knowledge about places like Oregon; Seattle, Washington; Chicago, Illinois; Austin, Texas; and Charlottesville and Alexandria, Virginia. #LiveatUrban https://urbn.is/3tV15kS
