This is important work. Most rural communities are not ready for what is coming and will be left diminished by the 3rd wave energy gold rush on our lands, our culture and our resources. Wave #1 - soil, land & forests to drive westward expansion, steam locomotives and explosive growth of American. #2 - rivers, dams and coal to continue explosive growth through industrialization and winning WW2. #3 - solar, wind & data centers for an uncertain decarbonized future in the AI age. Unfortunately rural and Tribal communities had little control during the 1st two waves. If we don't pay attention wave 3 will have crested past us before we know it's coming.
📣 Calling all rural Washington residents! Join the virtual community meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, June 5 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. to learn how clean energy development may affect your community. Participation will help inform the Rural Clean Energy Economics and Community Engagement Study and Report being prepared by Commerce. For more information, visit https://lnkd.in/gHWwNBkP. Watch live on TVW: https://lnkd.in/gYNVzxXi Commerce’s public meetings are inclusive and accessible. Our online meeting will be closed-captioned, screen-reader enabled, and available simultaneously in Spanish. Please contact our consultant team at RuralCleanEnergy@rossstrategic.com for other accommodation needs.
