Half salesguy. Half stand-up. All parental disappointment. Enablement and hyper-relevant messaging - through the process of crafting jokes. Ironically, this isn't one.
Stand-up is sales but with a much crappier comp plan, reason #6439: Great sellers - like great stand-ups - don't sound rehearsed. There's an authenticity that conveys credibility. When I read my jokes off a page, they get smiles. But when delivered within the flow of convo - the laughs are way bigger. But how to come off as a confident subject matter expert? Practice and at-bats go without saying, but: - Gaining an in-depth understanding of how problems you solve impact your target persona - and other key stakeholders en route to costing them time and money - will project the image of a consultant vs. a salesperson. A salesperson's role is to see if they can help prospects eliminate a problem they struggle with, and that's B2B Sales in a nutshell. Expose yourself to real discussions and common terminology while reinforcing your understanding by: - Having convos with colleagues to hear what their prospects are struggling with. - Attending trade shows/conferences - Learning from 3rd-party websites - Observing discussions within communities Absorb what you can. Ask questions. Don't be afraid to admit you're new to the space and/or aren't a practitioner.

2nd Monday of December, what are you doing to crush the #sales goals? I did not say, what you plan to do ,to be productive,I said what are you doing ? I see this gap almost everywhere, you attend that top notch event ,and you don't even apply one thing you paid $3,000 or even $250 to attend . Some attend such events just to network and get to access to a kind of Audience . We all have our reasons. Na you know wetin you go find for the event, some na potential spouse (😉) But, if your reason is to execute what you learned in your business and after 10 weeks , no planning and execution. I think you need a sales accountability partner for yourself or your team. My team and I in "ekijomarketing" offer trained #sales and accountability partners. There is always a bridge between learning and doing but there is more thrill in receiving knowledge ( learning) than execution. Execution is the hardest part and continues strategic execution is even.more difficult especially in #marketingcommunications which can lead to more or less #sales. Whenever I read honest comments from my clients ,I appreciate their criticism but not also fail to appreciate their wins and reviews. Stella Essien is a part of our community. The" close that sale and upscale community " I appreciate this gift from my heart. We keep building productive businesses.

I've got a sneaky sales secret up my sleeve: Just do a little bit more. 99% of people struggling with sales aren't putting in the reps. They're simply not talking to enough humans. They also see this as a total chore. So I'm here to shift the narrative. What if sales is self-care for your business? You're willing to spend an hour at the gym, right? Why not spend an hour at the "business gym" every day? Not sure what to do with that hour? That's where I can help...it's highly personal and depends on your personality, your products, and your prospects. I'm hosting a Sales Bootcamp August 7th - 25th that will teach you real-ass strategy...but more importantly, help you fall in LOVE with it. (PS a few years ago I bought the domain salesisselfcare.com!)

Goated marketing strategy? Leave your thoughts below😉
I worked at LF for just under a year, I needed to sharpen my sales skills and Lead Forensics seemed like the perfect place to go..... While there I noticed that their whole (tele)marketing function is out of date. Put it this way, no one in the B2B space is safe, if you have a business you'd get hundreds of calls, emails and LinkedIn messages. No sauce, no style, no care. Kinda funny to start with as everyone calls you 'pro active' but really they just assume that your product doesn't work because you have to work so hard to get people to buy it. Truth is the product is amazing and works really well. But the reputation overshadows the product. I can't imagine many enterprise CEO's check linkedIn but I sent PT a inmail anyways as i'm sure a lot of my audience work at LF anyway so it will probably make its way back to him. A little like Chinese whispers so wish me luck 🙏 Sarah Hodges Matija Karaula Henry Braithwaite ps: I had to pay for my own LinkedIn premium while I was there pps: I really rate the trade show setup they have #salesandmarketing #marketing #consulting #outofdate #newbusiness

Association Execs: Sales anxiety is a real thing for a lot of folks that wear a revenue hat in addition to their many other hats. Maybe negotiating makes you uneasy, or maybe you feel uncomfortable sending multiple "just following up" emails to unresponsive prospects. Perhaps the thought of phone calls to potential sponsors, exhibitors, and/or advertisers feels daunting. Whichever part of sales feels icky to you, trust me, I've been there. [Sidebar - a quick tip for making calls: Don't set aside an entire day for this - you'll find plenty of other things that just have to be done instead of picking up the phone (and, yes, that's personal experience speaking). Instead, block off a few 20- to 30-minute windows during the week. This makes call time less intimidating and significantly boosts your chances of getting it done.] For more actionable, effective, and non-cheesy tactics to improve your sales results and make the process more enjoyable, then consider signing up for my workshop: 🚀 'From Awkward to Awesome: Mastering Key Sales Skills to Boost Your Non-Dues Revenue' 🚀 📅 Date: September 6, 2023 📍 Location: Non Dues-a-Palooza at the Curtis Denver Hotel ⚠ Limit of 7 attendees for a personalized experience. ✅ For more info or to register: https://lnkd.in/e3qBAy2z #NDaP23 #associations #nonduesrevenue #assnprofs #meetingprofs #eventprofs

I feel like I need to pack a pretty pencil case and get a new notebook (anyone else? No just me a stationery hoarder?). Anyway I am honestly looking forward to it, and gaining new skills in this area of sales. Anyone else in my network attending next week? #personaldevelopment #salestraining #alwayslearning #lifelonglearning

After our recent experience at SOURCING at MAGIC, I've realised that going to trade shows is a MUST, especially for smaller manufacturers. Here's why: 1) Lead gen - it's the most effective way of generating leads. There is no other platform which gives you so many leads who already have the intent to buy. 2) ROI - a single good converted lead can cover the complete cost. Do the math! 3) Contacts - trade shows aren't just for customers, you can also use them to find better suppliers. 4) Exposure - even if you don't cover the cost through sales, you get to see what the rest of the world is doing, and how you compare to them. This will help you make better business decisions going forward. Consider it an investment in your and your team's professional growth. I know many manufacturers who hesitate because of the cost. My advice would be - go to at least one show and see the difference it makes. Smaller companies lack the exposure and the sales ability that larger companies have, and this is a great way to bridge the gap.
