On this new political dawn, I wanted to cast a light on the The Labour Party's ground campaign. Yes, national sentiment is important, and I found plenty of common trends across the country during this 6 week campaign - disillusionment, fury at the Conservatives, hope for change and a worrying rise of the hard right. But local Labour campaigners make the difference in close races between victory and defeat. It's their efforts, driven not by self interest, but by a common vision of what a better country would look like, which has delivered the new political map we wake up to this morning 🌹 🌹 🌹 Tens of thousands of them were out yesterday knocking doors and convincing their neighbours change is possible if we vote for it. That's called democracy, and its a beautiful thing. So hats off to the campaigners, from all political parties. Congrats to Rosie Wrighting Alice Macdonald Ryan Jude Evelyn Akoto and Neil Coyle for being inspiring campaign leaders that made us all believe change was possible. Onwards.
Well done!!!
Hats off indeed. Amazing work Emily 💪
