We provide engineering, procurement, and construction project management solutions in the oil and gas, utilities, renewables, energy, and commercial construction industries!
If you want to have success, gain experience! I dreamed of leading an entire team and managing a construction project from conceptual design to completion. In my mind, there was only 1 problem. I was 3 years out of college and had zero construction management experience. At that point, I didn’t know exactly how I would do it, but I did know that I loved to work in the field and work with teams to collaborate and create projects that one person could not achieve on their own. So, it inspired me to make a job change from environmental engineering to facilities engineering. As much as I wanted to manage a million-dollar project, it seemed daunting, and I didn’t understand many unknowns, so I decided to start with small, brownfield projects and gain experience. My bosses never gave me a large project to manage out of the gate, so I thought this would be a great first step to gaining their trust. I continued to improve on my skills by executing all types of small projects thrown my way. Eventually, the leadership team noticed that not only was I hitting all of my budgets and schedules, but Operations and Maintenance liked to work with me because when the projects were turned over, they worked. And then it happened...my boss told me I would manage an entire compressor station project. What seemed impossible 2 years ago now seemed like a cakewalk. I had the right experience and understood the details, so now it was a matter of showing up and putting everything together. A previous team had executed a similar scope for $13 million. Our team did it for a little over $1 million. We reviewed each detail step by step and ensured everything was in check. I received an award and a bonus for leading the project and completing the scope of work under schedule and budget. Now, I don’t sweat inexperience. Dedication, drive, and small steps toward a designated goal are all that you need to be successful. #oilandgas #energy #designbuild

The wind energy sector received a boost this week after seeing the results of a huge investment from the massive Dogger Bank Wind Farm, as their operation in the U.K. came online. The ‘world's largest offshore farm’ can be found off the coast in the northeast of England and is being constructed in three phases, with a total capacity of 3.6 gigawatts expected once fully operational, this will lead to the generation of enough power for as many as 6 million homes a year. This is the latest of a number of wind projects across the world to use innovative, large blades, with companies hoping to generate more electricity while using less turbines.
