🔬 Exciting breakthrough in ovarian cancer detection! Our prospective study at Chengdu Maternal and Child Health Hospital unveils promising results in utilizing blood cell-free DNA (cfDNA) methylation levels for early detection and triage management of ovarian cancer. 📊 Methodology: We meticulously examined 151 patients, evaluating CA125, HE4, ROMA index, and methylation levels of CDO1 and HOXA9. Univariate and multivariate analyses identified high-risk factors, while the efficacy of methylation detection was assessed using AUC. 💡 Key Findings: Patients with ovarian cancer showed elevated levels of age, menopausal status, CA125, HE4, ROMA index, CDO1, and HOXA9 methylation. The combination of CDO1 and HOXA9 methylation testing exhibited the highest AUC of 0.936, with 89.7% sensitivity and 97.5% specificity. Notably, early-stage ovarian cancer detection rates were particularly promising at 85.7%. 🔍 Conclusion: Our study underscores the potential of blood cfDNA methylation detection, offering a simple and non-invasive approach with high sensitivity, especially when combined with CDO1 and HOXA9 methylation testing. This method holds promise in reducing invasive procedures, alleviating patient anxiety, and improving detection compliance, marking a significant stride towards effective ovarian cancer triage. #OvarianCancer #MedicalResearch #EarlyDetection
