ChatGPT hasn't put us out of business yet... But it has improved our workflow. Here's 3 ways the notus team uses AI to build profitable content engines: 1.) To generate fresh Content Ideas Brainstorming content ideas can be difficult when working with clients from all types of industries. To get new input, I feed ChatGPT one of 20+ prompts we use internally and customize it based on our client’s background and goals. This gives me a dozen content ideas, which: - Speak to the ICP's wants and needs - Relate to specific subject-matter topics - Are tied to one's personal journey Now, I can turn the best ideas into questions and use them during my next Content Call. Speaking of Content Calls… 2.) To debrief Content Calls & create Content Outlines We host Content Calls to ghostwrite with our clients' original ideas & tone of voice. (See comments to steal our process 👇) But, the process of turning recordings → notes → content outlines used to take hours. Now, using AI tools like: - Riverside - ChatGPT - krisp We can transcribe the call and structure notes into individual post ideas with a few clicks. What used to take 3 hours gets done in less than 30 minutes. The only human effort now is quality-assuring that AI output before moving forward with the production process. This saves us time & focus we can now put into copywriting, which cannot be replaced (yet). On the topic of writing copy… 3: To shorten & rephrase copy My No.1 lesson from David Ogilvy's memo to his employees: Keep things concise, cut the jargon, and write as you talk. So if you can write 7 words instead of 14, do so. For example: ❌ Just last year alone I gained an extra 6,000 followers to my LinkedIn account, which helped me sign 25+ new clients to the agency ✅ I turned 6,000 new LinkedIn followers into 25 @notus clients in 2023. When in doubt, I make sure my sentences are concise. Sometimes I struggle with this process too. So I tell ChatGPT to give me 3-5 rephrased options. TLDR: AI won't read your mind and create content for you. But it can certainly enhance your process. What’s your favorite AI content use-case? P.S. In this article, @Garrett Leahy from the marketing campaign company LeadLander covers some ChatGPT basics and ways sales professionals might use ChatGPT to improve their sales results. I 💻 admit to the fact that it does not have emotions like humans. This just goes to show that a major secret weapon of a copywriter is EMOTIONS 💘💘💘 Because everything we do as humans stems from an emotion. Emotions are at the heart of everything we do, especially when it comes to buying and selling. Think about it: when you are browsing through items at a store or online, what often catches your attention? It's not just the price or features —it's how those things make you feel. Take the cozy ambience of a boutique, for example. The warm lighting, pleasant scents and soft music are all carefully chosen to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. And when you feel good about there, you're more likely to feel good about the products being offered. The same goes for online shopping. Ever noticed how some websites use vibrant colours, persuasive copy, captivating images and engaging videos to grab your attention? That's because they want to trigger emotions and get you excited about what they are selling. Well, successful sales are all about making customers emotionally connected. AI is changing the way we learn, research, and work. If used properly, it can help you 10x your productivity and income. To remain competitive in this new world, there is simply no option but to learn how to use ChatGPT and other AI tools. Give ChatGPT an identity In the “real” world, when you seek advice, you look for experts in that field. You go to a trained investment specialist for financial advice and a personal trainer to get into shape. You want ChatGPT to write sales copy: “You are a professional copywriter. You have been providing copywriting services to businesses for 20 years. You specialize in writing copy for businesses in the finance sector.” You want career advice: “You are a professional career advisor. You have been helping young men (20-30) find their dream jobs for 20 years.” 2. Define your objective When ChatGPT knows what you want, its advice is much more catered to your needs. Simply tell ChatGPT what you are trying to achieve, and it will tailor its responses accordingly. Be as specific as possible about what your objective is. for example, When we tell ChatGPT that the goal is to find subs, it makes the Tweet much more specific to the benefits of learning how to use ChatGPT. This kind of Tweet is significantly more likely to help us achieve our objective of converting people into subs. 3. Add constraints to your prompt You can guide ChatGPT’s output by providing more details about what its answer should or should not be. Constraints help ChatGPT to understand what you are looking for and avoid irrelevant outputs. Here are some examples: Specify the length of the response: “Generate a 200-word summary of this article.” Specify the format of the response: “Generate a table of keywords for a blog relating to gardening. Include “Example of article titles” and “target audience” as columns.” 4. Give ChatGPT a structure to follow In copywriting and storytelling, there are tricks of the trade that all writers use to create persuasive and/or engaging content. Take advantage of this by asking ChatGPT to use these proven methods when completing a task. 5. Refine the output through conversation The beauty of ChatGPT is that it remembers the whole conversation within each chat. You can ask follow-up questions to dial down into a specific answer. Here are a bunch of useful follow-up prompts you can use to refine your ChatGPT answers: - Format this answer as a table - Write this from the perspective of [example here] - Explain this like I’m 5 years old - Add some sarcastic humor to this - Summarize this into a tweet (280 characters or less) - Put this into an actionable list

As a writer, I'd use ChatGPT to help brainstorm, outline, and trim word counts. As a consequence, I feel like I've become a weaker writer. Sure, AI can be useful. But it's made for production, not creation. Here's what I mean. There's a catch-22 to marketing, content strategy -- really any creative field: People know that videos, copywriting, and visual art have value, but they don't know what makes it valuable. A few examples include... People know they need copy so they feed ChatGPT some prompt and then copy/paste whatever it tells them without editing it. People know they need artwork so they give Midjourney some prompt and then copy/paste whatever it generates without understanding what the image can mean to a viewer. But the problem isn't with AI. It's that it's used as a sledgehammer when it should be used as a scalpel. It should 𝘦𝘯𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 creation, not replace it. And since most people know that these things are valuable yet don't know what makes them valuable, their reliance on AI to spit out content has made it difficult for human creatives to compete. After all, why pay a writer, video editor, photographer, or artist when you can pay a machine a fraction of the cost -- even though there's a big difference in qualitative and quantitative performance because the human knows what they're doing? Don't get me wrong, AI is an interesting tool to experiment with. What worries me is that this is just one factor among others of a mass dumbing-down due to technology: TikTok videos that need multiple other videos squished into the frame in order to hold people's attention. People relying on ChatGPT to manage their social media accounts, where you have bots just talking to one another. Newsletters, social posts, blog articles, etc., all terribly written with outdated information, clearly written by AI since "I hate writing and don't want to pay someone, but it needs to get done so..." 𝗪𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹. Simultaneously we wonder why we feel stuck and can't get the level of success we want because, instead of doing the work or finding skilled people to do it for us (and paying them appropriately), we're constantly incentivized to take the easy option -- which is a non-option because it doesn't even do what we need it to. Part of the reason I've stayed off here for a while is that, based on the engagement the popular "experts" get, what most people consider smart entrepreneurship boils down to laziness and sociopathy: "What can I do to extract as much value as possible while overinflating anything I have to offer to maximize extraction, regardless of how this affects others?" I thought the point of entrepreneurship was addressing challenges and creating solutions. How can you consider yourself a good entrepreneur when you create nothing? Spoiler: you can't.

A prompt requires a framework for adaptability and ease of customization. I recommend ending a prompt with “start response with chain logic in bullet points The simple addition of chain of logic. Reduces hallucinations and slows the AI to think first. Use the chain of logic to correct any areas where chatgpt is off.
