My 2 Cents... I am intentional with frequently telling my team how grateful I am for them and the work they do. I am also intentional with expressing my gratitude for my career, my team and the ability to show up in Nursing as my authentic self. "Gratitude can be defined as a positive emotion felt after receiving something valuable. And science has shown that people who are grateful feel happier." So let me ask you... What does gratitude mean to you? What does it look like in your organization? How do you show gratitude to and with your team? https://lnkd.in/e5Jc6quw

𝗚...𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲. Being grateful for what we have, while striving for what we want - sounds easy in theory! Dissatisfaction often comes from looking outside at what others have and feeling like we are never enough. Expressing gratitude helps us to centre, tune in, and then we are ready to take action. (You might like to begin a gratitude journal ritual to turn the expression of gratitude into a habit.) #workstyle #careerdevelopment #careers #workdesign #jobsearch #careerchange

“Expect Nothing, Appreciate Everything” is the mantra that I am using this month. This mantra is about keeping our expectations of ourselves and others in check. Letting go of the pressures of such expectations and accepting ourselves and others. It is about learning to be content with what we have and not rely on others for our own happiness. It is also about practicing gratitude by appreciating everything that we have and that is around us. Appreciating the small and the big things. And sometimes what seems like the small things are in fact the big things e.g. the ability to see, the ability to move, appreciating the birdsongs when outdoors, enjoying the dry weather and being grateful for the rain watering the gardens.....and many more. “Expect Nothing, Appreciate Everything” Namaste - have a good week Bill Leckie Rachael Burnside Clare Pierotti Claire Campbell Deborah Leveroy PhD Emma Buchanan Elaine Kearney Gustavo Ayres Netto Ⓥ 🚲 Giada Gaslini Jon Walton Jude Slann Kirsty Pugh Linzi Carr Lynne Murray Pedro Couto Lopes Ronnie Connick Ross Cooney Shona Hirons Angela Lindsay Yvonne McNair .......and many more #mantra #mentalwellbeing #gratitude #expectationsmanagement

I recently had a quick weekend trip to Vegas for a concert and got to stop in one of my many favorite food establishments in Las Vegas – Side Betty Grill – a staple at Park MGM with incredible burgers. Mirna has been a staple there for years – her infectious smile, outgoing personality and ability to connect with customers always makes my day – and reminded me of Gratitude 2024 – seeing the envelope of the 2023 note I sent her sticking out from under the cash register. 〽️ichigan Football festivities sidelined my annual January 1st post – but 2024 marks the fifth year of Intentional Gratitude. Each year, I print 365 notes on cardstock (366 when it's a leap year)! Most notes are mailed out afterwards and go to someone, like Mirna, with whom I had a direct interaction with – many in the service, hospitality and retail world who are out on the front-line – it is a surprise-and-delight when they get the note a few weeks later out of the blue (I'm thankful leaders like those at MGM Resorts International share mail addressed to their employees). Some go to our wonderful travel professionals Inflight, at the gates and in the lobby during my weekly travels (always keep a few in my travel bag). Others go to connections with whom I've lost touch with; and a handful also go to new connections or those with whom I have mutual connections. I usually wrap up my Sunday evenings jotting notes from the previous week and addressing the envelopes. We have no idea what the person on the other side of a conversation or short interaction is going through in the course of their day or their personal triumphs of struggles at home. Small gestures of kindness and gratitude can change the tone for a day, week or life for someone (I received a note back from one recipient that was contemplating taking their own life – and the note was a reminder there is someone on the other side despite how bad things may seem). As it turns out, I've gotten just as much gratitude – if not more – over the last four years writing these notes. I hope everyone can find their own way to keep the 'Gratitude Plane' going to make this world a better place – Cheers to Gratitude 2024! Much Love & Gratitude, Steven #Gratitude #Gratitude2024 #IntentionalGratitude
