With the recent hype around all things #AI as the supposed ultimate solution, the earlier focus on partnerships has laid bare the dirty truth that platforms by themselves, no matter how good technologically, tend to not generate value without a clear application and successful execution. Case in point: not a single Atomwise partnership led to a clinical program, despite hundreds of shots on goal. Glad to see the shift from platforms as a service to their use for asset generation. It's about time! Now let's see if investors catch on as well.

But today, we know there are ways to rescue failed trials. One of them is by projecting computational models based on large datasets onto smaller datasets of responders in clinical trials. This approach could revive drugs that would otherwise not make it to market, as well as predict which patient subpopulations would respond to your drug in later stages.
