Amazon is like SEO The longer you are on Amazon, the better. Once your listing on Amazon matures, around 60% of all your sales will be organic ads. 2. The big retailers are looking for Amazon brands. The big retailers will contact you if your brand is doing well on Amazon. This provides a much easier way to get into retail. 3. The more omnichannel, the better Nothing scares a potential acquires when 90% of your traffic comes from meta.

Thinking of entrusting your Amazon business to an agency? If you're focused on finding an Amazon-only agency, it could be a costly mistake. Why? Because it can be challenging to see the bigger picture if you only work one channel - and this difficulty will compound with client size. It might seem like a good idea - you can really shop around, that's for sure. The landscape is flooded with Amazon-only agencies (Amazon Ads leadership told me a few months ago there are at least 10,000 in the US alone!) But marketplace decisions—pricing, merchandising, SKU listings—impact all your channels. "Who's the Boss" was one of my favorite T.V. shows growing up. Now that I am grown up, I find myself asking "Who's the BOSS of #omnichannel?" Meaning, at the end of the day, who's ACCOUNTABLE for making sure that the business is going to market in a seamless way and that the shopping experience is FRICTIONLESS no matter where a shopper buys, or how they discover and consider a product. Who's accountable for making sure all cross functional teams (Sales, Operations, Marketing, Finance) are doing their jobs against this goal? It has to be BRAND, right? The brand is the business unit and the brand manager is typically the GM of the business. And yet, it's surprising to me how infrequently I am in a conversation about #ecommerce or #digitalshelf where a brand manager is involved. Sales is usually in the room. #Digitalshelf and ecommerce team, sure. But isn't THE BRAND the glue holding it all together? If a #retailer like Amazon can be both a platform for discovery and purchase and #TikTok the same, doesn't the old school delineation of channel-based ownership break down? If a retailer can be both an advertising network and a place to transact, where does brand's remit stop and start? Earlier this week, I presented to the senior sales leadership of a #CPG brand and suggested that sales was the glue holding it together. And someone asked me, 'Why isn't it brand?" And I just had to say "Great question. Probably, yes. But are they up to the task?"

If you're an omnichannel seller, Google's new Performance Max for Marketplace could be a major sales driver for you... Performance Max for Marketplaces lets sellers advertise marketplace products (e.g. on Amazon, Walmart, etc.) without a website. The impact of this new feature could be major, but also depends on the adoption of it by big marketplaces. For example, Amazon sellers can now advertise their listings more seamlessly with Google which could lead to more sales. I still believe this is the beginning of the omnichannel revolution. Both Google and Meta are racing to drive sales across all channels and not just your DTC site. Solutions like these further emphasize why should be diversifying your sales mix rather than your advertising mix.

Offline attribution is impossible Until now. Retail has forever been a black box. Shoppers walk in and money comes out. But data does not. Amazon and other marketplaces work the same way. But those days are over. Today over 100 brands are getting attribution from retail sales using Brij. And it’s pretty simple. Put a QR code on your package and give buyers a reason to scan. The price is $5.99 per unit on Target and $17.99 for a 3-pack on Amazon. This product is losing the BuyBox over 2 cents. $5.99 x 3 = $17.97 That small detail can kill your sales and organic ranking.
