Do you want better software for your business? When performing vendor appraisal, consider their testing strategy as one of your key assessment criteria. It’s an essential aspect in determining the quality of the software you’re commissioning. Here’s a video providing a quick guide to unit testing. Armed with this knowledge, you’ll be able to discern whether the vendor has a robust strategy or if they’re merely using smoke and mirrors. #unittesting #vendorappraisal #softwareprojects

I hate feeling helpless. It’s in my DNA to solve problems. When I see people’s significant investments drip slowly down the drain and there’s nothing I can do, it really does wind me up. I’m talking specifically about software projects: websites, web apps, mobile apps. One of the biggest money pits is caused by the lack of testing. This occurs where software is released with little or no testing, putting the onus on the client to test on a live system! I get it: testing has a stigma attached; it’s boring and it takes a lot of time. The thing is, testing can save you a lot of time, money and reputation down the line. The problem is, if you don’t know anything about testing then how can you assess the quality of your choice of vendor? I want to arm you with the knowledge of unit testing. Once you understand the simple concept you can pre-qualify your vendors, ensuring they have a good testing strategy in place. This means fewer headaches for you. This video gives you a brief introduction to Unit Testing. It doesn’t require you to be technical. Arm yourself with the knowledge and do some pre-qualification on your vendors to avoid future headaches. #DecisionMaking #AwardingBodies #TechForNonTechies

This post is about A/B tests. (Easy way to increase profits) Beta testing is something special. I always loved it. Sometimes, we just want to use an app for it's tools. Doesn't matter what kind of app (or service, or a site) As a person, who is endlessly obsessed with design in general, I tend to notice some things, which people usually won't pay attention to. That little button, with text misaligned, This "Subscriptions" button, visible in 3 spots on ONE PAGE The user journey, which is challenging And many more. End of the world? No. Missed profit opportunity? Yep. The 3 examples above may seem absurd, In fact I would agree if I didn't have the statistics on hand. Lol. Honestly, we wouldn't know what impacts the MRR if not A/B tests. We're going to be running these tests on a 600 000 monthly users website. Again. In fact, running A/B tests on your company's site may be a great idea, If you do it properly. Comment "boost" for a free consultation on getting better results from your website. ______________________________________________________ Update on the refresh of So We Agency. We're in development, New site incoming. Thanks to Cristian Mitrofan for design support!

For the past 2 years, i've been testing all sort of no code and AI tools for clients. If you're looking to use no code tools for your project, Let me save you hours of googling 1. flutterfow - mobile apps and web apps 2. adalo - mobile and web apps 3. glideapps - mobile and web apps 4. backendless - backend 5. back4app - backend Theres a lot but if you're interested to know more, you can subscribe to my newsletter ( links on my profile ) and receive a notion docs full of no code tools on your welcome inbox. Apparently Linkedin does not like it if post links 😀 One thing to be careful with, 99% of these no code/ low code platforms do not tell you their platform's limitations example: 1. glideapps doesnt offer design customizability 2. flutterflow is great on mobile but not really for web apps The list is on and on, so do your own research. If you don't have time to research, schedule a call with me and i will tell you exactly which tools is the right tool for your next big software idea. Thats all from me, see you on next post ! 🍀

Is a web app another fancy name for apps? Or a website? Or what is it? Glad you asked. We're 14 Oranges and we've been helping small/medium businesses and government agencies for 14+ years with practical web solutions for their business. A simple way to describe a web app is this: You know that clunky process you have that requires manual entry into multiple spreadsheets and that only one person on your team really understands? Sometimes there’s an error transferring information from one spreadsheet to another and making sense of the data is difficult because the spreadsheet has become a bit of a ‘beast’. What about your ordering process? Does your team spend too much time receiving orders via email, following up with customers and manually entering orders? It might be time for a custom web application to take over these processes. Sign up for our newsletter and learn more about custom web apps in a way that is written for business people, not tech people. Stop before delivering your app! Testing your end apps is essential to ensure they work as intended. By testing your apps, you maintain high standards of performance, accessibility, security, and quality. For React apps, using Jest for unit testing, React Testing Library for integration testing, and Cypress for end-to-end testing is highly recommended. Always remember to test the critical parts and try to have a code coverage greater than 80%, which is required in most production projects. If you want to build robust and professional front-end apps, write automated tests. It's crucial for the success of your apps! By following these testing practices, you can ensure that your React front-end apps meet the highest standards of quality. Don't compromise on quality and performance. Invest time in testing your apps, and you will reap the benefits in the long run.
