If you're considering hiring an agency or a freelancer for a project, don't underestimate the power of briefs. 👇
It doesn't really matter what kind of project: content production, advertising, web design, etc. - a clear and well-defined brief can save both parties quite a bit of time and money by reducing guesswork.
Before beginning a project, sit down with your team, align and define at least these points:
✅ The business goal of the project
Is it to attract new customers? Is it to improve conversions? Is it to make your product more understandable?
✅ The target audience and relevant data
What are the demographics? What influences their decisions?
✅ List of deliverables
If we're talking about SoMe content, don't forget to mention the formats you need your content in!
✅ Budget
✅ Must-haves
Real actors in your video campaign? Crazy fast load speed on your website?
✅ Nice-to-haves
Amazing animations on web? Drone shots for your video campaign?
✅ Preferred timeline and key deadlines
✅ References of the work you like
✅ Findings from past projects
Have you done something similar before? What was the outcome? No matter if it was a fail or a success, there's something to learn from
Of course, there should always be some room for creativity, but the more unknowns you leave, the bigger the project scope gets. Feel free to leave out a point or two!
And don't forget to have all your brand assets easily accessible. You should have variations of your logo available in different formats, as well as alternative layouts. It's not very fun working with tiny logos ripped out of websites. 👀
