For the past 23 years, the Lansing Grand River team has worked together to proudly deliver luxury and high-performance vehicles to customers everywhere. Their performance and commitment have been undeniable. That’s why in 2023, we committed that LGR would be a vital part General Motors electrification strategy, and today we were able to celebrate that GM has been awarded a $500 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy to support this team and future. Today underscores our commitment to U.S. leadership in manufacturing and innovation, and I couldn’t be more proud or confident in our team at Lansing Grand River to help lead the way to a future we believe in. Dad! It’s been amazing to start this new chapter of mine leading global manufacturing and sustainability at General Motors. You always told me that time goes fast, I can hardly remember a time where that has been more true than right now. I'm writing to express my deepest gratitude for everything you've done for me. You've instilled in me the values of trust, respect, and confidence, which have shaped me into the person I am today. I owe my entire career to you. Your hard work and dedication showed me the importance of perseverance, and your unwavering belief in me gave me the courage to pursue my dreams of making cool cars. It's a job I love, and I wouldn't be here without you. Thank you for creating a childhood for me that was safe, filled with love, and taught me the value of hard work. Those early lessons have helped me build a wonderful family of my own, and I'm so proud of the four incredible children that Winni and I have raised together. You're the best father anyone could ask for, and I'm so grateful to have you in my life. I wish you, and all the other dads out there, a very happy Father's Day! Love always, JP

I’m delighted to announce the start of a new chapter this week, as I make my return to the automotive industry as Executive Vice President of Global Manufacturing and Sustainability at General Motors.   At first, it was the opportunity to contribute to GM’s vision of zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion that excited me most. That, combined with their commitment to a future of autonomous and connected electric vehicles perfectly aligns with my vision for a safer, cleaner and more efficient transportation landscape. However, in my brief time at GM, I’ve been even more inspired by this company’s people and culture. The approximately 165,000 employees across the world are committed to building the industry’s best vehicles for their customers and they do it with safety, quality, and a collaborative spirit.   I recently spent time with Gerald Johnson at Factory Zero, GM’s first fully dedicated electric vehicle assembly plant. To say this visit was eye-opening, would be an understatement. The sheer scale and potential of the facility were impressive, and witnessing the rapid ramp-up of electric vehicle production firsthand solidified my excitement for the future of GM.   In the coming months, I can’t wait to visit our other facilities, meet more of the team and work together to strengthen GM’s competitive advantage that is manufacturing. I am grateful for the time I spent at Google, and I look forward to blending my technology mindset with GM’s manufacturing expertise and learning more about this iconic brand and building together upon their rich history.   #iworkforGM

Google is expanding its commitment to responsible data center growth with a new water risk framework. This framework helps Google choose environmentally responsible cooling solutions by precisely evaluating watershed health in data center communities. This is a crucial step in ensuring sustainable data center growth as digital demand increases. The framework was developed by Google in collaboration with LimnoTech and industry experts.

CEO to newly establis­hed in­nova­tion hub for data centers in Europe We are looking for a CEO who is passionate about innovation and sustainability. NZIH is initiated by Danfoss, Google, Microsoft and Schneider Electrics and located in Fredericia, Denmark, with a clear pan-European ambition. The aim of the NZIH is to identify, manage and scale solutions and approaches that can help to further accelerate the decarbonization of the data center industry and strengthen ties to the surrounding society, incl. grid stabilization initiatives.
