How will you turn up tomorrow? Today I introduced my Lego tree to a group at the start of our workshop. Using the Lego figures to represent how each of them we’re turning up - how were they feeling. A bit of fun but most importantly they knew what was going on for each other and could take this into account in their discussions. What would your Lego figure look like and were might you position yourself on the tree? I also shared mine with them as I think it’s important to be vulnerable when you’re the facilitator - mine was the figure at the bottom under the tree holding a little light and giving myself a little protection. Tomorrow, I have 13 people presenting their key learnings from the leadership programme I've been running with them over the last few months. Rather than having an awkward silence when I ask which order they want to present in, I thought I'd continue the LEGO theme, which has been throughout the programme, and ask them to pick a baseplate from the bag... the number of dots on their baseplate represents their slot number.
