So this morning, I bumped into a JD on LinkedIn from a fashion media brand where one of the points mentioned was "employ an air-hostess-style demeanor, combining impeccable communication skills, charm, and confidence in all interactions". And at that, all I did was cringe really hard for a profile such as that of " brand licensing, sales". We're stepping into 2024, and people/organizations think it's really okay to use such vile language or even have a thought process like this one. And what does it mean really? In candid words - hiring good-looking women in sales. It's not like it didn't exist earlier, but even then, most people weren't so blatant about it. I don't think, brands/people should feel like it's okay for them to continue. Parallely, this is also demeaning for the flight attendants, because are brands/ people implying that's all the cabin crew are good for! This is the reason why they get mistreated on flights. They're looked at as caretakers - women who are accustomed to being at the beck and call of people. We shouldn't continue to think of women as being the right candidates for servility and obseisance. It's just morally wrong. Period. #workculture #hiringpractices
