Research conducted by O2 (Telefónica UK) to mark Skin Cancer Awareness month found that nearly 1 in 5 Brits would go on holiday to a warm climate, without sun protection – in the hope of catching a tan. With almost 1 in 10 people only applying sunscreen when they feel they ‘might’ be burning, O2 have you covered. In a bid to highlight the importance of sun safety this summer, O2 – the only major network operator to offer inclusive EU Roaming up to 25GB as standard – has partnered with British Skin Foundation and Green People Ltd to merge smartphones with sunscreen and create a limited-edition smartphone accessory complete with a built-in sunscreen to remind holidaymakers to ‘top up’ whilst on soaking up the sun. This is all very well, Lutz Schüler, but what about Virgin Media's poor customer services highlighted in a recent Which report? Wouldn't it be better to listen to what customers have to say rather than promoting a 02 PR exercise on using sunscreen (as important as that might be)? Virgin is charging customers 8.9% more this year for worse services.
