Do people still say "our cousins across the pond" when referring to colleagues from Australia, New Zealand and the U.S.A? Anyway our "cousins across the pond" The MARKHAM team were involved, in applying AQURON 7000 hydrogel treatment to offset low cover issues in the concrete approach ramps and other segments: Project information https://bit.ly/49rdTPu This is significant not just to solve the issue of low cover but when we think broadly and ask the sustainability question, can we use less concrete in general? Not to remove the need for minimum cover, but possibly excess cover in certain circumstances? Learn how low cover can be effectively doubled here: https://bit.ly/48m88kx This treatment is part of the CIVIL-TECT system, increasing the long-term durability of civil concrete infrastructure, and increasing its service life. #concreteconstruction #cathodicprotection #industrydisruption

Operational Optimization Specialist | Kiln and Mill Coach || +55.5k followers || Click on the FOLLOW button to know everything about the cement industry.
Deep cleaning? Due to the volatile matter cycle (minor elements of the raw mix and solid fuel), in addition to the false air inlet, unwanted coatings can appear in the cyclones and the kiln inlet (cold zones), causing operational disturbances. Fluctuations caused by "crust" excess can contribute to the clogging of ducts, cyclones, or even the rotary kiln. When these accumulations significantly disturb the kiln operation, some cleaning methods and coating removal may be helpful. These methods include high-pressure water spray and carbon dioxide tubes (cardox). In case of cleaning with high-pressure water spray, it is necessary to use all PPE for high temperatures, delimit and isolate the work zone (access to the cyclone tower), and comply with all rules of the operating procedure and safety. Remember that this is one of the highest-risk activities in a cement factory. Take a look at the video...!! You will see the task of cleaning coatings using a high-pressure water spray. Do you see some actions that could be improved in the cleaning operation? The chapter, Excursion Into the Chemistry of Binders, of the webbook 𝗜𝗹𝗹𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗲 by Rainer Nobis (translated into Spanish by Juan Ortega) brings relevant details about the composition and chemical reactions of the raw materials for the production of Portland cement and concrete. The technical-operational assessment program by ICC helps the cement plants to execute the continuous improvement of the safety management system based on current regulations and legislation (local and international), as well as by implementing the best safety practices used by benchmark companies in the cement industry. The intumescent coatings sector is a crucial part of the wider passive fire protection field. These specialized coatings are created to offer fire resistance to different types of surfaces, including steel, wood, and concrete. They achieve this by expanding and creating an insulating char when subjected to high temperatures. As safety becomes increasingly prioritized in construction standards, and awareness about fire protection grows, the intumescent coatings industry has been steadily growing. The global intumescent coatings market size was valued at USD 1.12 billion in 2021 at a CAGR of 5.67% from 2022 to 2030. ✔ 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐛 𝐚 𝐏𝐃𝐅 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬 – https://lnkd.in/dqCgHD5i (Use Corporate Mail Id for Quick Response) Within the industry, market trends involve the progress of formulations that are eco-friendly and have a lower content of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Additionally, advanced technologies are being integrated to reduce application and drying times. Furthermore, there is a strong emphasis on aesthetics to ensure that these coatings can seamlessly merge with architectural designs. Moreover, the future of the intumescent coatings industry is being shaped by collaborations among manufacturers, regulatory bodies, and research institutions. The efficacy of #waterproofing admixtures is often judged by the reduction in water absorption, which is relatively easy to measure. While water absorption and permeability tests are important parameters to judge the efficacy of waterproofing admixtures, the effects of waterproofing admixtures on some important durability properties (e.g., reinforcement corrosion, carbonation, acid resistance) should also be tested. Currently, there is a lack of guidelines or standards to determine the efficacy of waterproofing admixtures, and the sample preparation processes are also not consistent in different studies/experiments. Researchers tend to make concrete with a specific water/cement ratio and then vary the dosage of a waterproofing admixture. But different practices have been adopted in demoulding (with or without demoulding agents), curing (controlled or uncontrolled conditions), and drying (temperature and duration) their concrete samples. For example, the use of demoulding agents (i.e., oil) affects the hydrophobic behavior of concrete surface providing false results for water absorption and water contact angle. The concrete mix designs and test procedures also are often different, so is not straightforward to compare the test results in different studies. At Chem Concrete: Australia, we are the sole manufacturer and supplier of a new generation of concrete waterproofing admixtures (referred to as #hybrid admixture). Our team is composed of several #distinguished #professors, #PhD holders, and #engineers. Construction and Waterproofing is Science - it should be accurate and follows certain steps. Understanding the nuances of timing and weather is pivotal in ensuring the success of concrete construction, particularly in the realm of waterproofing. Here are key considerations to enhance your concrete projects: 1. Timing Matters: The timing of concrete pouring plays a crucial role in achieving optimal results. Extreme temperatures can impact the curing process, potentially leading to cracks and defects. Avoid pouring during heavy rain or snowfall to prevent saturation, which can compromise structural integrity. 2. Weather Timing: Factors such as temperature, humidity, and wind speed exert significant influence on concrete quality. High temperatures may induce rapid drying, resulting in cracks. Elevated humidity can slow down curing, weakening the concrete. Wind speed affects surface drying, potentially causing cracking. 3. Waterproofing is Key: In regions susceptible to heavy rainfall or flooding, effective waterproofing is paramount. Alchemco, a leading expert in concrete waterproofing, presents TechCrete 2500 Waterproofing Agent—a bio-based modified silicate solution. This innovative formula forms a protective barrier within the concrete, preventing long-term water entry. The agent penetrates and creates a waterproofing gel, offering lasting protection with minimal disruption to traffic flow. Empower your concrete projects with the right timing, weather awareness, and advanced waterproofing solutions. Alchemco stands at the forefront of technology, safeguarding structures against the elements. #concrete #waterproofing #waterproofingsolutions #Alchemco #TechCrete2500
