As we observe Mental Health Awareness Month, focusing on the crisis among our youth, we wanted to share an insightful dialogue between parents navigating this crisis. Michealle and Katherine are two remarkable mothers who are navigating the complexities of the youth mental health crisis exacerbated by the pandemic. In this candid discussion, they shed light on the challenges their families have faced in accessing suitable mental health support and advocate for systemic change. We recognized the significance of initiating this dialogue to reassure parents, guardians, and loved ones that they are not alone in navigating the journey to find optimal care for youth. Listen to the conversation and join the movement to prioritize mental health support for our youth. Let's break the stigma because no one should suffer in silence. https://lnkd.in/eSXXWkq4 . . . #MentalHealthAwareness #YouthMentalHealth #BehavioralHealth

This National Mental Health Awareness Week, May 6-12, we celebrate the power of compassion in healing. With a theme of “Healing Through Compassion”, the Canadian Mental Health Association reminds us that compassion bridges gaps, builds trust and fosters community, regardless of who we are or where we come from. 1 in 5 Canadians experience mental health illness. A significant number, highlighting the importance of compassion and understanding for all. Every day, Canadians encounter barriers when seeking help - from long wait lists to stigma and financial insecurity. We are deeply committed to the principles of compassion. We are on a mission to break down barriers and create a safe and inclusive space for anyone in need. Empathy and compassion have the power to change lives and at Momentum, we are proud to be part of that change. 💜🩵 #NationalMentalHealthAwarenessWeek #HealingThroughCompassion #EmpathyMatters #yeg #yegcharity #yegmentalhealth #mentalhealth

Men's Mental Health Awareness Month aims to break down the stigma surrounding men's mental health and encourage men to seek help when needed. It is important for men to understand that it is okay to not be okay and that seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness. Statistics show that men are less likely than women to seek help for mental health issues, yet they are more likely to die by suicide. This highlights the importance of raising awareness and providing resources for men to access mental health support. During Men's Mental Health Awareness Month, it is crucial to educate men about the signs and symptoms of mental health conditions, as well as the available resources for seeking help. Encouraging open conversations about mental health and promoting self-care practices can also help men prioritize their mental well-being. By shining a spotlight on men's mental health, we can work towards creating a society where men feel comfortable seeking help and receiving the support they need. Let's break the silence and stigma surrounding men's mental health this June and beyond. #MensMentalHealthAwareness #MentalHealthMatters #PrismLite

By sharing stories of resilience and recovery, we can inspire others to seek help and provide a platform for those who have been silenced. Summer offers the perfect opportunity to engage in outdoor activities and community events that promote mental health awareness. Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay. One of Rotary's main initiatives this year is prioritizing mental health and creating hope in the world. Research shows that performing acts of kindness is the most effective way to protect our own sense of well-being and become more resilient. Rotary can create the kind of world we want to live in: one where we all feel supported as part of a community and where we help expand access to quality care. Members can do this by: -Erasing the stigma associated with caring about emotional well-being -Raising awareness about mental health needs -Working to improve access to mental health services Members can help each other prioritize self-care in the most meaningful ways. Clubs can ensure they offer welcoming environments where everyone interacting with us is treated with care, respect, and dignity. We can talk openly about mental health, let people know they're not alone, and encourage them to get professional help. We can work with community and national leaders to create or expand access to quality preventive care and interventions for mental health. #WorldMentalHealthDay #ROTARYOne #RotaryClubofChicago #ServiceAboveSelf #GiveBack #Rotary #Chicago
