Investing in industrial impact and decarbonization

💥 Proud to announce the final close of the $150M Blackhorn Ventures Industrial Impact Fund II, which provides us the opportunity to continue to partner with world-class founders transforming how we build, power, and move our world. 💥 I've been involved in the #energytransition for two decades and have never worked harder, or had more conviction in the timeliness of this opportunity: the 'AI Supercycle' and the 'Manufacturing Supercycle' are converging, creating an unprecedented increase in energy demand (and structural labor shortages) in the sectors where we invest - conditions ripe to build iconic companies for the 21st century. To take advantage of this opportunity, we're privileged to start new LP relationships with Mitsubishi Electric, Westlake, GOLDBECK and Mercuria, and excited to continue relationships with existing LPs who have been with us since our first fund: Jonathan F.P. Rose, The Grantham Foundation for the Protection of the Environment Simpson Strong-Tie amongst other foundations, advisors, and mission-aligned individuals. My exceptional colleagues at Blackhorn, led by Philip O'Connor + Melissa Cheong + Stephan Cizmar, wake up every day working to earn the right to support entrepreneurs accelerating the energy transition - companies like AGORUS, Buzz Solutions, Circuit Mind, Datch, ecoworks, Electric Era, Fero Labs, Golioth, Isometric Technologies (ISO), King Energy, Optera, RailVision Analytics, Ridepanda, Specifx Data, Sway (formerly Returnmates), ThinkLabs AI, Inc., Trunk and the newest member of the Blackhorn family Formic. The momentum across these 20 companies in the portfolio is undeniable: 9 of these 20 have already either raised subsequent capital or have received term sheets for up rounds or round extensions. For those on our shared journey to digitize our industrial infrastructure, decarbonize our economy, and safeguard our most critical infrastructure and economic competitiveness, thank you for your ambition! If you’re working to accelerate the energy transition and building a brighter future (whether as a founder, investor or industry stakeholder), please reach out. Shout out to Katie Fehrenbacher Snehal Shah Roodgally Senatus Tim McDonnell Bianca Giacobone Shaun Beaney for shining a light on this milestone during a challenging fundraising environment, and for your steadfast support of this vibrant ecosystem. The best is yet to come. ✨ ✨ ✨ https://lnkd.in/ekgTnCQR

This is great, Micah. I have long sought a seed and early-stage fund focused on significant impact. We are primed to raise capital currently, based on our unique patent pending Ebike battery technology, that charges ebike batteries faster than you can safely drink a cup of coffee. I want to discuss cycling batteries with you or anybody at Blackhorn Ventures and see if there’s synchronicity. Well done, Micah. I know that in some ways, the hard work is now just beginning - identifying, screening, and selecting startups to invest in, and the supporting their development. Wishing you great success in this important venture.

Congratulations Blackhorn Ventures for closing the fund under the current “climate change” conditions in finance. Conditions facing interest-rate sensitive renewable project investments, which #AI-enabled ventures such as infiniRel Corporation phelp to improve operational #efficiencies.
