Had the great fortune to partner up with three wonderful panellists (and just all-around good people) this afternoon to discuss strategies for prioritizing mental health in the workplace: Many thanks to Kiruba Shankar E., Amir Kaplan, and Frederic Repond who joined me in discussing why it is absolutely critical for Insurtech / insurers to focus more on mental health in the workplace, along with a number of insights on how to do it, starting with leaders setting the tone. The statistics we discussed are sobering (*see below). There are clear financial benefits for businesses to meaningfully address mental health in the workplace, and substantial positive outcomes for our employees and customers. When talking to bigger companies I often grapple with the same prevalent challenge. People professionals seek a one-stop-shop solution for everything. In the field of health that means, covering all fields from mental health, physical health to nutrition, while simultaneously craving high-quality, impactful tools. 🔍 On one hand, there's a growing trend among organizations to seek a holistic health solution – an all-encompassing platform. The allure of a consolidated, streamlined approach is undeniable, promising simplicity and ease of management. 💎 On the other hand, the emphasis on high-quality tools with a impact creates a paradox. Achieving excellence in addressing mental health challenges requires specificity, personalized interventions, and a nuanced understanding of each employee's unique needs.
