It’s going to be hard to top this photo of Kathy and the boys on what would’ve been Doddie’s 54th birthday today 💙💛 With that in mind, we couldn’t think of a more fitting day to announce that the Foundation is committing £500,000 to support clinical trials across the UK 🔬 When Doddie was diagnosed with MND, he was incredibly frustrated at the lack of clinical trials and hope for people living with the disease. It therefore makes us proud to make this investment today in his name. The clinical trials landscape has changed significantly since 2016, with many more clinical trials running across the country and we hope that continued investment in these will accelerate the search for effective treatments. To celebrate Doddie, and raise awareness of MND, we’re encouraging everyone today to wear a wee bit of tartan and to get their friends and family involved too. There’s even prizes for our favourite pictures including Doddie’5 Moonshine and merchandise. To enter, just post your picture and use #myname5doddie (or comment it below). comment of the ride: 'great news we are now half way, only 100 f*%$£ miles to go'.
Could next years Lions top not include a bit of Doddie tartan in the design and a contribution from each shirt sold be made to the foundation. Raising awareness and raising funds.
Amazing people. Bumped into Doddie on the 2017 lions tour. Have done GNR and even made pies 🥧 to raise money. Gone but never forgotten. Always mistaken identity….
As a rugby supporter I remember the interview of him with rob burrows, and the inspiration and uplifting words he gave him, then the humour and friendship they seemed to form. Good luck in raising the money for such a worthwhile cause in the name of such a gent
Beautiful photo happy heavenly birthday to big Doddie god bless him 🏴🙏🏴🙏🏴xx
This is such a worthwhile cause, credit to all involved
These guys are legends. People knew very little about MND 5 years ago - now they are well on the way with cure / prevention
I feel for Kathy and her boys. This year would have been my husbands 70th birthday if MND had not taken him. Well done to Doddies Foundation for their continued efforts for people living with MND.
Tremendous commitment. Know exactly the frustration you refer to. Investment is about the future. Kerpnupbthe good work.

2w#myname5doddie - I’m wearing my wee bit of tartan on what would have been the big man’s 54th birthday Doddie Weir - a true inspiration to us all. Let’s continue to bang the drum for the MND community to raise awareness of this terrible disease. 🏉
