An investment in the Center for Economic Inclusion is an investment in people who are changing policies and practices, increasing wages and working to improve spend with Black, Indigenous, Latine and Asian-owned businesses. Now is the time!
This week, we celebrate the sixth anniversary of what became a life-changing journey, the launch of the Center for Economic Inclusion. The Center was founded in partnership with leaders from many communities wrestling with the divided economy and issues of racism. As we celebrate this milestone, we thank those who have contributed to our path to today. We look forward to our journey ahead, together, taking meaningful and measurable anti-racist actions to create racially equitable, inclusive, and just communities for more than one million Black, Indigenous, Asian, and Latine people by 2028. Can we count on you to help us drive change by donating today? https://ow.ly/8xLH50Q5v9n

Many Black community and non-profit leaders face roadblocks in gaining access to capital to start, sustain and/or scale up their work. In partnership with Doritos SOLID BLACK, the Black Nonprofit Changemakers program seeks to narrow that gap and provide participants with the assets they need to not only survive but to adapt and thrive. August is #BlackPhilanthropyMonth, a celebration of the legacy of Black giving and the ingenuity of Black philanthropic leadership. According to the Black Future Co-op Fund, traditional philanthropy only invests 1.8% in Black-led nonprofits. Moving toward shared abundance requires intentional, significant increased investment in Black communities. For more on how to increase investment in Black nonprofits and communities, see the Co-Op’s informative resources: https://lnkd.in/gj9Eb4KF #BPM2023

Making a difference outside of CMB is an important part of our culture. We contribute a percentage of our fiscal year operating income to the ITA Group Foundation with four key areas of focus: 1. Arts, Culture & Community Engagement 2. Health & Wellness 3. Human Services 4. Racial Equity You may not know that racial equity was added as a pillar to our Foundation for Charitable Giving in 2020 in support of the fair and just treatment of all people. Since accountability and sustainability are paramount towards this mission, we committed to a goal of giving at least 15% of our annual Foundation for Charitable Giving to organizations whose missions are explicitly anti-racist and focused on issues that disproportionately impact Black Americans—a percentage that reflects the U.S. population. This year, contributions towards racial equity made up 26% of our 2023 Foundation Giving. This contribution is one small part of our work towards becoming a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization.
