Our amazing colleague Phil Norman OLY just ran the fastest steeplechase by a Brit for 33 years 🤯🇬🇧 So we’re gutted he’s set to miss out on the Paris Olympics as he fell just 0.15(!) seconds short of the UK’s tough qualifying standard. We couldn’t be prouder of Phil, who is always at the top of his game. How is it inspiring to have nobody representing their country in an event? Often when people have the Olympics on but have nobody to cheer for they don't even watch the race and step away from the telly for a break. As for the time, I for one am sure impressed! As a decent club runner I'm not bad, but I'd almost be lapped twice even if I skipped the jumps! Have shared with Ipswich Jaffa running club, and can see you've been adding several signatures just in the time I've been writing before 5am in the morning!

2wIt’s an extraordinary achievement. And a shocking system that does not recognise or reward that. Rules should be there to protect and defend and not stuck to rigidly when they don’t promote the best in performance.
