The World Sustainability Congress in Amsterdam this week was an insightful event held at a unique indoor garden venue that reinforced our bond with nature. My key takeaways - - The next ten years are critical in the road to net zero. We have to act now! - Supply chain emissions require greater focus given they account for 11 times more emissions than the scope 1 & 2 of a firm (on average) - The only way forward is a circular economy - We’re not alone, this is a topic that garners more support and collaboration across competitors, industries and with regulators/governments, than any other. Now in Brussels at the #ThinK2030 2024 meeting about sustainability policies for the next 5 years. High level discussion with excellent speakers. However, a bit alarming that the 3 priorities for Ecopreneur.eu - The European Sustainable Business Federation were not even on the list and hardly touched upon this morning: 1.
