Did you know that reducing gender disparities in employment and entrepreneurship could boost gross domestic product in the world by more than 20%?* 🌟 Today, on International Women’s Day, we are reaffirming Sopra Steria’s commitment to tackle gender inequalities & prevent all forms of discriminations.🌟    As only 29% of the STEM workforce in Europe are women, we are determined to keep contributing to shifting the lines of gender balance in tech. Gender equality is a frequent topic of conversation. It's an important conversation, yet with women still vastly underrepresented at the C-suite and across many corporations, we still have a long way to go. I had the pleasure of discussing this today at the International Women Board of Directors summit in Dubai. Achieving gender balance in the boardroom is crucial for companies looking to have healthy performance, culture, and governance. By embracing gender diversity, organizations reap the benefits of more robust decision-making, greater innovation, and improved corporate governance. To achieve this however requires a concerted effort by both companies and individuals – from implementing robust inclusion targets and expanding the talent pool, to calling out gender bias.   At Mastercard, gender equality forms a core part of our organizational DNA. Our efforts in this space have earnt international recognition such as Mastercard being listed among DiversityInc’s Top 50 Companies for Diversity and Bloomberg’s Gender Equality Index. An equal world is a more inclusive world, and we are wholeheartedly committed to supporting the journey to gender balance with all our resources, technology, and the power of our network.

Many Hi Tech and innovation driven organizations invest in promoting Gender Equality (GE), what are possible benefits? Is there enough progress in that? Gender equality in Hi-tech and other innovation driven organizations is essential for fostering invention & maximizing talent. A few key reasons are that it can contribute to bringing diverse perspectives, promoting a work climate of inclusivity, fair access to opportunities, an environment where the best ideas can flourish, and the full potential of everyone can be realized. All these can meaningfully promote innovation and workers' satisfaction. While progress in Gender Equality in innovation driven organizations has been made, there is still a significant gender gap especially in core technology & scientific roles as well as in senior management positions where women remain a minority. Based on my international knowledge and experience in promoting Gender Equality in organizations in these fields, I find there are different approaches to achieve that, such as raising awareness, addressing biases, fostering supportive practices and more. However, for meaningful impact and best results, practices to promote Gender Equality should be uniquely fitted for each organization using suitable organizational consulting approaches. Today is the international women's rights day ! The opportunity for all of us to get reminded that gender equality has still yet to be obtained and that we need support from our companies to fill the gap. To mark this date, our CapGemini team took a picture with the official pose to support gender equality "let's inspire inclusion". I see it with my own eyes: Capgemini Belgium engages a lot of efforts, through their trainings but also through their hiring process, for gender equality. It is important for me to pinpoint that we, at Capgemini Belgium, benefit from the incredible willpower and energy of our CSR Officer, whose vision for the future does not go without #inclusivity. To support gender equality at work, let's : - call out all systemic, institutional, historical, cultural gender discriminations (ex: sexist or sexual harassment) - pinpoint the salary gap - raise awareness about gender representation: you're a woman*(cis, trans etc...) in a male dominant field ? You ARE a role model already.
