My former colleague experienced the "Sunday night blues" every Sunday due to a terrible job that caused anxiety about returning to work on Monday. After a year of this, he decided to look for a new job, while also making a concerted effort to quash negative thoughts about work and enjoy his Sundays. This mindshift helped him with his overall outlook and made him more productive in his job search. From this experience, he learned that if a job is not the right fit, it's best to recognize that, not continue to dwell on a job, and make a change. He has since found a job which has been the perfect fit and now he is excited for the week to start. It's important to prioritize your mental health and job satisfaction. #jobsearch #careeradvice #mentalhealth

I recently drew this as an expression of how I've been feeling throughout my job search. Some days I feel fired up and excited about the possibilities of finding a new opportunity, and some days I feel extremely burnt out and discouraged that I may never find a position right for me. I say this because it is so important during the job-seeking experience to keep your mental health at the forefront of your priority list. Rejections are natural, but after a while they may start to feel personal... "Am I not good enough?" "What's wrong with me?" "Nobody wants me." These are thoughts that go through my head when I feel discouraged and when my match starts to burn out. I encourage everyone reading this to allow yourself to find balance and rest during your journey. These thoughts have helped me in my experience so far, and I hope that when you feel burnt out you know that you always have another match in your matchbox waiting to be lit again ๐ฅ โจ #jobseeker #jobseeking #mentalhealth #jobsearch #openforwork #openforhire #mentalwellness #dontgiveup #youcandoit #strength #encouragement #empowerment

What are the three main aspects of job burnout depicted in the visual metaphor of a cluttered desk, dimly lit office, and a wilting plant? Job burnout is a state of physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion resulting from continuous and excessive work-related stress. It is characterized by three main aspects: emotional exhaustion, where the individual feels tired and depleted by work demands; reduced personal accomplishment, where one begins to view themselves negatively with feelings of inefficiency and lack of success at work; and emotional numbing, which includes indifference or negative feelings towards the job, colleagues, and clients. Job burnout is an increasing problem in many professions and industries, especially those that deal with high stress levels continuously, such as healthcare, education, and emergency services. Burnout can lead to deterioration in physical and mental health, including depression, anxiety, and heart problems, and negatively impacts productivity and job performance. Therefore, it is important to recognize its signs early and take steps to manage work-related stress and promote well-being in the workplace.

Anxiety. Receiving the news that you are being made redundant from your job can generate many emotions and have a significant impact on your emotional wellbeing. It is normal to experience a range of feelings, such as sadness, anger, frustration, fear or uncertainty about losing your job. Here are some suggestions on how to cope with the news and move on: 1. Allow yourself to feel: It is important to acknowledge and validate your emotions. Allow yourself to feel and express the emotions that come up, whether by talking to a friend or loved one, writing in a journal, or doing activities that help you process your feelings. 2. Seek support: Talking to someone you trust can be helpful in processing your feelings and receiving emotional support. Don't hesitate to seek support from family, friends or even a therapist to help you deal with the emotions and stress of redundancy. 3. Evaluate your options: Focus on finding solutions and exploring the options available to you. Assess your skills, strengths and experience to identify alternative job opportunities or consider making a career change. 4. Update your CV and look for opportunities: Update your CV and start looking for new job opportunities. You can search job advertisements, job search websites, professional networks or take advantage of networking. 5. Take advantage of available resources: Check out resources in your country or community that may be available to help you with your job transition, such as training programmes, re-employment programmes or job counselling services. 6. Take care of yourself: During this transition period, it is important to take care of yourself both physically and emotionally. Maintain a healthy routine, exercise regularly, eat well, get adequate sleep and seek out activities that bring you joy and well-being. Remember that each situation is unique and may require different actions. If you feel overwhelmed or struggle to manage your emotions, consider seeking the support of a mental health professional who can guide you more specifically through this work transition process. Lots of encouragement and I hope you find new opportunities soon! Ansiedad. #psychotherapyandcounselligworldassociation #roxanacarrillocounselling

๐ How to Tell If You Have Emotional Baggage from Past Jobs? Ever feel like youโre lugging around a suitcase of old job issues? Thatโs emotional baggage! Hereโs how to spot it: Emotional baggage: Itโs the unresolved stress, conflicts, or doubts from past jobs that still affect you. ๐ Reflect on Past Jobs: Do old conflicts or stresses still bother you? ๐ Notice Patterns: Are you facing similar issues in every new job? ๐ Identify Triggers: Do certain situations or colleagues set you off? ๐ Watch for Stress Signs: Headaches, insomnia, or constant fatigue could be signs. ๐ Ask for Feedback: Trusted colleagues or mentors might offer insights into your behaviour. ๐ Recognize these signs? It might be time to unpack that baggage and start fresh! The moment I found the sculpture in the mall, all I could think about was my emotional baggage because I was carrying my work laptop to the beach while on holiday with the guilt of "taking a break". Sigh! If your emotional baggage had an image, what would it look like? ๐โ๏ธ Mine would be a worn-out "Zebra Jhola," because working to build a mental health support system in workplaces hasn't been that easy!
