In 2021, we launched TIME100 Companies. Coming out of the pandemic, we realized the role business and businesses play in individuals' lives was fundamentally changing and wanted to capture that transformation. Today, we feature two companies on the cover--Anthropic and Rare Beauty. Anthropic was only a few months old when TIME100 Companies was first launched. Rare Beauty's products had only just hit stores. The emergence of these two companies shows just how quickly the world of business can change. We think of this project as an argument for what business influence looks like in 2024. No single data point or financial metric makes a TIME100 Company. Instead, we are looking at a mosaic of qualities, studying impact, innovation, ambition, and success, all in the many different forms that take shape today. It's a refreshing perspective that resonates with our work at the E-Commerce & Digital Marketing Association, where we also value diverse success indicators.
