The results are in! On Wednesday, we revisited schools who began monitoring their local air quality earlier this year. Using their science skills, pupils investigated the causes of air quality changes, discovering the differences during school drop off and pick up times and investigating how idling cars impacted air quality. If your budding young scientist is bored during the summer holidays, then why not help them learn about air? Last month, we celebrated Clean Air Day at the Glasgow Science Centre and got a sneak preview of the 'Our Amazing Air' science show. We were delighted to see data provided by our Air Quality team come to life and enjoyed throwing air pollution at a giant nostril! Find out about the show at https://lnkd.in/ePc6gKC3

Each Friday we issue our water scarcity report, this is to inform the many different businesses and industries where water is essential for operating. We report weekly, even when water scarcity risk is only at early warning level. We also make sure to feature the whole of Scotland, because when it’s raining in Edinburgh, it can still be dry in Orkney. Visit sepa.org.uk/water-scarcity to find out more

It's #CleanAirDay! Today, over 800 pupils joined us at the Glasgow Science Centre, taking part in a selection of experiments from data mapping to throwing air pollution ping pongs balls in the 'Our Amazing Air' science show. Our Air Modelling Unit Manager, Dr Colin Gillespie, highlighted how pupils have been immersed in the science behind clean air, learning how they too can help protect our environment. How do you protect the air environment when you can't see it? We're celebrating #CleanAirDay this Thursday, so we're taking a closer look at our role in air quality. We'll be showing how we champion clear science for clean air. We have helped develop a dedicated site for all things air quality at www.learnaboutair.com You can also find out more about our regulatory role via our website https://lnkd.in/en2bMMz2
