Today is #earthday 🌍 So, let's talk about the fashion industry's impact on our planet. 👕 Did you know that the fashion industry contributes roughly 10% of global CO2 emissions? Shockingly, about 30% of all clothes produced are never even sold/worn. That means that up to 3% of global CO2 emissions could stem from this overproduction alone. 👚 👗 👖 The biggest contributor to this issue are the long lead times that are still prevalent in the industry. Clothes are often made on the other side of the world by underpaid workers, only to end up in landfills or incinerators. 🗑 🔥 At silana, we're committed to changing this narrative by bringing fashion production back to the point of sale.
