On this International Women's Rights Day, I'd like to share with you some very interesting insights into the Lotto Super League, which not only has a clear place in the Belgian sporting landscape, but also plays an essential role in the development of football in this country. Indeed, while women's sport is watched and followed more by men than women, there is a difference between the generations. And the graph below proves it. The Lotto Super League attracts more interest from men than women in the general population, but when we look at football fans alone, it's already more balanced. What's even more striking is that among football fans, more young women aged 16 to 24 are interested in the competition than young men of the same age. Excellent that the US Men's and Women's soccer (football) teams get paid the same! If the viewership and revenue are the same, then the talent should be paid the same. Actors/Actresses, musicians and other entertainers don't all get paid the same, with some females and non-binary getting paid more than many men in their respective industries. It should be based on their percentage of the financial gains. NBA and WNBA stars will unlikely ever get paid the same. Employees in a big company worth Billions will have a higher salary than those in a company worth Thousands, even with the same product. Specific roles in the same company should get the same base pay, with possibility of a longevity or merit bonus, profit sharing, and commissions, all independent of gender.
