"I'm a Strong Towns aficionado. I think they have it virtually correct," says Massachusetts Congressman Jake Auchincloss. In this interview, he went on to discuss the importance of abolishing parking minimums, allowing incremental development, and improving local housing affordability. Making these things possible on a local scale should be a priority for all policy-makers. Check out the whole interview on Brookline News: https://hubs.la/Q02DMr0m0
Car dependence should stop......everywhere!
"Virtually correct".... what does that mean? FACTUALLY CORRECT! We can establish avoidable cost (healthcare/safety net) AND we can calculate a thoughtful social return to Impact Fixed Income capital that will avoid $$trillions of impact on our social safety net. Let's geaux. Discuss. Argue. Decide.
We do need to overcome our fear of walking... And, regarding affordable housing, the DOJ is trying to increase all buyer's housing by their 3% buyer commission. So, is the whole discussion seems bipolar.

6dUnfortunately building the wrong type of housing will push us over the edge if we don't embrace true Net-Zero Development. I'm not just talking the talk, we are developing a Net-Zero affordable housing community on Cape Cod in Sandwich, Massachusetts that will be shared with folks in Upstate New York and replicated in a Net-Zero Green Corridor from Cape Cod to Canada for the Northeastern US with the Rotary International, Environmental Action Group to show how we as a global community can deal with brining about a more sustainable, resilient future for our world. To quote another local politician "Ask Not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." our civilization and our planet are in desperate shape. We are in the 2024 Earthshot Prize competition nominated by Rotary International, because we have no choice but to recognize that our Earth is in trouble, and we all need to work together, thinking and acting holistically as our only path to a brighter future. Everything is connected, it's time we recognized the fact and acted accordingly. The crisis is an opportunity change the course we're on. And it needs to happen everywhere now, Time for Plan B.
