This was the choice facing audiences at our Future in Focus immersive technology showcase last night at University of South Wales with Media Cymru Target3D Ltd | The Mechanics Behind Creativity and Canolfan Mileniwm Cymru | Wales Millennium Centre We were showcasing the work of our brilliant Lost In Spatial hackathon attendees who had spent 2 days developing with Existent’s toolset. Ric Bower Klaire Tanner Siôn Griffiths Rachel Pedley Jamie Berry Matthew Squires and Rhys Williams. Witnessing the speed of development that the teams achieved and the camaraderie over the 2 days was wonderful to be a part of. In our panel discussion we asked: What’s next for immersive tech in Cymru? We heard that in the near future our pioneering hackathon attendees will use immersive tech to: 📣 Help breakdancers in Wales gain representation at the 2028 Olympics. Rachel Pedley and Jamie Berry are using VR to train people in breakdancing.  📣 Disrupt the commercial art scene. Ric Bower is using VR to host hybrid art fairs where smaller galleries and those from the global south can more easily and affordably reach new audiences. 📣 Improve the audience experience for TV. Klaire Tanner and Siôn Griffiths are enabling participatory and personalised TV experiences blending VR with traditional formats.
