The Green Recruitment Company’s Post

Danish State Railways (DSB) has partnered with European Energy to support the creation of one of Denmark's largest solar parks, set to significantly boost the country's renewable energy capacity. 🏞 Lidsø Solar Park: - Location: Rødby Harbour in Lolland Municipality, eastern Denmark. - Size: Spanning 253 hectares, making it one of Denmark's biggest solar parks. - Production: Expected annual output of 262 GWh, enough to power nearly 65,000 households! 🔋 DSB's Green Commitment: - Power Purchase: DSB will purchase 80 GWh annually upon the park's completion next year. This accounts for about 50% of the current electricity consumption for Copenhagen's light rail network. - Sustainability Goal: DSB aims to reduce its climate impact by 98% by 2030 compared to 2019 levels. This agreement marks a significant step towards that ambitious target. 🌍 Impact and Vision: - Fast-tracking Green Transition: "With this agreement, we contribute to a faster transition to green electricity in Denmark, thereby strengthening the position of trains as one of the most climate-friendly modes of travel," said Aske Wieth-Knudsen, Head of Sustainability at DSB. - Regional Renewable Energy Boost: Jens-Peter Zink, Deputy CEO at European Energy, emphasized the importance of expanding renewable capacity in eastern Denmark, with Lolland Municipality leading the way.
