Creating a culture that encourages, embraces, and celebrates diversity is central to our identity at TSG, helping to ensure an inclusive workplace for all. Today, we are excited to celebrate Juneteenth, a holiday that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States. This day serves as a powerful reminder of the progress we’ve made and the work that still lies ahead in the journey towards equality and justice. Internally, through our Employee Resource Group MOSAIC, we’ve encouraged our employees to honor this day by amplifying Black voices, supporting Black-owned businesses and artists, and advocating for equality and inclusion. By doing so, we honor the significance of Juneteenth and contribute to a more inclusive and equitable future for all. #Juneteenth #FreedomDay #DEI #TSG

Cultural safety for Black women is a basic human right along with the right to health and housing. In our mission toward inclusivity and understanding, let's reflect on the importance of creating cultural safety for Black women. Black women are not a monolith. Each woman's experiences, histories, and identities are diverse. When working with Black women, we need to acknowledge, honor, and respect the rich tapestry of backgrounds that contribute to their uniqueness. We can do this through actively listening, uplifting, and assuring the voices of Black women honor their strength and resilience. Understand the challenges they face within housing and health care to break down the barriers of medical racism, structural biases, and misunderstanding. Create safe spaces for all Black women that allow them to be heard, valued, and respected. Together, we must dismantle the power and influence that medical racism, structural biases, and historical trauma have on Black women so that they can strive and thrive in an environment that is inclusive and supportive of them. Make these actions a part of our daily commitment to fostering cultural safety for Black women. Together, we can create meaningful change to support, honor, and include ALL Black women in culturally safe environments. #BlackHistoryMonth #CulturalSafety #BlackWomen #BHM #BlackHistory #BlackHistory365 #BlackLegacy #BlackQueens #BlackWomenExcellence #CulturalSafetyNow #ActionForChange

In the UK and Ireland, Black History Month is marked each year in October and is a time where we should recognise and celebrate the significant contributions of Black people to our society. This year in particular, we wanted to focus on the remarkable contributions of Black women, as the theme for Black History Month is ‘Saluting Our Sisters’. At SLR, we understand the critical importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. This is an opportunity for us to not only acknowledge but deeply appreciate the profound impact of Black women who have shattered barriers and championed equality. From Mary Seacole's pioneering healthcare work to Nicola Adams' groundbreaking achievements in sports, Audre Lorde's powerful literary impact, to Baroness Doreen Lawrence's championing of justice, these exceptional individuals evoke a deep sense of admiration and gratitude. In our internal communications and conversations this month we have shared spotlight profiles of these four remarkable women who have left an indelible mark on our society, and encourage you to research them too. Their achievements, fuelled by determination and a commitment to equity, are truly inspiring. Let us harness the inspiration drawn from their journeys and commit to creating workplaces where the achievements of Black women are acknowledged, where their talents are nurtured, and where their voices are amplified. This Black History Month, let us make a collective commitment to promote racial equity and diversity in every facet of our lives. As part of our own commitment we have signed the Race at Work Charter, which asks businesses to make a public pledge to improve equality of opportunity in the workplace, and we are taking action to ensure equality for black and other ethnic minority groups at SLR, including launching our Race & Ethnicity employee network. #BlackHistoryMonth #BHM #Equality
