Wait to be invited to sit by the host, VIP takes the seat farthest from entrance. 2. The host will prepare the tea settings, from choice of equipments, cleanliness to temperature of the water. 3. First dose of tea tends to be poured away with exception of green and white tea. 4. Tea are poured to 70% of cup to prevent scalding. #FunFactTuesday Did you know about the Scottish tradition known as "First Footing"? As the clock strikes midnight, a tradition unfolds—one that involves the first person to step into a home after the commencement of the new year. This individual not only conveys warm wishes but also presents a curated array of symbolic treats. This tradition embodies a deep connection to cultural significance, with three distinguished elements: Shortbread: A manifestation of the desire for a year filled with sweetness and joy, shortbread stands as a symbol of the warm embrace of the upcoming months. Whisky: Beyond being a mere beverage, the offering of whisky holds a deeper meaning—infusing the environment with warmth and a sense of conviviality for the months ahead. Black Bun: Not merely a fruitcake, the renowned black bun is a dense, rich creation infused with an assortment of dried fruits and spices. This symbolises the collective wish for prosperity and abundance in the approaching year. This tradition is not just a gesture; it is a culturally rich way to usher in the new year with a touch of solemnity and a delightful celebration of tradition.
