Holy trivia! Did you know the Batmobile featured in the 1989 Tim Burton big screen version of Batman (Michael Keaton) was built with a 48-volt electric engine? Despite the on-screen thrills and dramatic car chases the vehicle was only capable of top speeds of 30 miles per hour and relatively short run times. https://ow.ly/wXjj50SiJCW

For many, the best-looking Pontiac is a Firebird – a particular Firebird, to be exact: the 1972 Trans Am, the car that almost wasn’t. Due to a GM workers’ strike, the corporation considered dropping the twin cousin pony cars from its Chevrolet and Pontiac divisions, the Camaro and Firebird. Luckily, the nameplates soldiered on, eventually finding themselves alone in the pony car field toward the middle and late seventies. Only 1,286 examples were assembled for the 1972 model year, a direct result of the 174-day cease-labor protest between April 7 and September 27, 1972. The low-production model is the last Trans Am armed with the big 455 H.O. engine, the torque ogre that could have just as easily found a permanent job in a locomotive or a tugboat. Because of its oversquare architecture (4.15-inch bore x 4.21-inch stroke / 105.41 mm x 106.93 mm), it scooped out torque in tidal waves.

Suspension is the general term for all force-transmitting connection devices between the vehicle frame and the axle or wheel. The main function of the suspension is to transmit all forces and moments acting between the wheels and the car body, such as support force, braking force and driving force, etc., and to reduce the impact load transmitted to the car body from uneven road surfaces and attenuate the resulting vibrations. Ensure the comfort of passengers and reduce the dynamic load of cargo and the vehicle itself.

🚨 Meet Euro NCAP's own THOR 🚨 Euro NCAP first used the most advanced test dummy in the world, Test device for Human Occupant Restraint or THOR, in 2020. THOR can record loading that would be applied to a human by the vehicle’s restraint system during a frontal impact collision. These measurements are then used to calculate the risk of injury. For example, the head may hit hard structures like the steering wheel, the chest will be compressed due to loading from the airbag and seatbelt, and the legs and hip joints may contact the facia. You may see this driver in our Frontal Impact – Mobile Progressive Deformable Barrier test. See it on the new Lexus RZ crash test video 👉 https://lnkd.in/eRw6wa9p Meet the rest of the dummies here 👉 https://lnkd.in/ez5uxSd2 🚗 #ncap #euroncap #Lexus #LexusRZ #RZ #safety #forsafercars #howsafeisyourcar #forasferfuture #saferroads #safety #rating #roadsafety #assessment #drivesafely #cars #safercars #safety #safetyratings #consumerprotection #electricvehicles #assisteddriving
