Neuron, a fully scalable, modular solution! Neuron allows journalists, producers and other users with no prior 3D graphics knowledge to input data into pre-defined templates that are then updated in the system and added to a rundown list for transmission in the playout area. On top of that, Neuron also allows for the integral management of templates and finished graphics through the broadcast workflow including traffic and branding. It's amazing to already see some of the first developments from Broadcast manufacturers creating media services running on the new Matrox Origin platform, only 5 months after the launch of this solution for asynchronous live video processing in the cloud/on-prem! The screenshot below is showing the RT Graphics Swift Media Service writing streams into the Origin fabric. One of the essential thing to understand is that timing is not constrained by real time transport stream protocols so you can build a complex workflow of services including this Graphic service and not just adding frames latency for each service you add. You cannot build the same solution with traditional interconnect methods. This service supports a number of “layers”. A layer uses a graphic template within an RT Graphics project and the service can support multiple layers. The screen grab shows 2 concurrent layers, the RT Software bug in the top left is one layer and the ticker another. Each layer is separately controlled via the ORIGIN Server REST API so it’s content and timing are independent of the other layers. So you can provide the path to the bug you want to use and then bring it on screen and then at some time later add the lower third with details of the content you want to use. You will be able to see this in real on the Matrox stand 7.B15 during the IBC show in Amsterdam and I also recommend that you meet the RT software team on stand 7.B18. Pebble will also have some technology preview of Clip Play-out running on Origin, do not miss visiting their stand 8.B75 at the show. Exciting times! It’s crazy that it wasn’t that long ago that distance collaboration was possible, but very cumbersome. Thanks to innovations from companies like Studio Network Solutions and Adobe as well as easy access to increasingly powerful gear designed with remote production in mind ( NVIDIA, ARRI, Audio-Technica, Solid State Logic just to name a few) collaboration across the globe has become so much the norm that I need to remind myself it wasn’t always this way! 2023 was a busy year for the Three2one Team. This project for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) was one of our favourites. 📺 The Challenge: The ABC, the nation's most watched and authoritative election broadcaster, required a graphics package design and cost-effective application built to drive the live, data-fed graphics to multiple in-studio video walls for The Indigenous Voice to Parliament Referendum coverage. The Three2one Solution: Three2one designed, delivered, implemented, and operated a custom-built solution for the ABC’s telecast of this historic event.
