Academy Endeavors provides tips on every Service Academy essay question... USCGA essay 2 question: The Coast Guard Academy is focused on diversity, inclusion and equity-mindedness across campus. What about your background, or what perspective, belief, or experience, will help you contribute to the education of your future classmates and enrich our community? (Limit 250 words on a single page) USCGA is probably the most progressive of the Academies, so you must pass the culture test that you are a leader who builds bridges with people different from you. Share 1-2 sentences on why DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) matters to you and the mission of the Coast Guard. Next, share a STAR (situation-task-action-result) story where you embodied your own definition. Lastly, share how you plan to contribute to an inclusive environment at USCGA.

At our 2024 Commencement we asked several students, "Why Cleary?" One of those students was Steven Pierce. Steven is a detective with the Detroit Police Department who earned his BBA in Diversity, Leadership and Public Safety, summa cum laude. “Having my degree from Cleary is preparing me for the next chapter of my life. Education is the engine that is moving me forward in my career, thanks to Cleary.” Find out how a Cleary degree program can work with your life. Founder Equities/Corporate Finance/Financial Technology Headhunter and Career Mentor/Interview Trainer.
Graduates- If you want a template on how to get to the top of any industry you decide on and the approach, then watch Tom Brady's Patriots HOF speech. My sporting idol, but more so because he lacked so many obvious, tangible physical skills that were deemed 'necessary' to survive in a sport as rough as the NFL. His work ethic has hardly been seen in sport before, his preparation and mental toughness, ditto. Graduates coming out of University who are feeling that 'only an Oxbridge/Ivy League candidate can get that role/opportunity', plse don't. Watch the Video and realise that this approach can and does transcend all industries, not just on the sporting field. If you prepare for an Interview, you can get a job that you believe is out of your reach and if your work ethic is exceptional, you can get to the top of any industry. #thejobmentor #graduates #careercoaching #interviewtraining https://lnkd.in/eagrsjkv

An interesting suggestion! The NYSC (National Youth Service Corps) uniform is a symbol of unity and equality among corps members, but introducing ranks to differentiate between BSc and HND holders could lead to unintended consequences. While it's understandable to want to acknowledge the difference in academic qualifications, introducing ranks could: 1. Create division and hierarchy among corps members 2. Foster a sense of superiority or inferiority complex 3. Undermine the spirit of unity and equality that NYSC aims to promote 4. Lead to discrimination or bias against HND holders Instead, NYSC could consider other ways to recognize and appreciate the unique strengths and skills of both BSc and HND holders, such as: 1. Specialized training or workshops 2. Leadership roles or responsibilities 3. Mentorship programs 4. Recognition awards or certificates Let's focus on promoting inclusivity and celebrating diversity within the NYSC program!

Today is #Juneteenth and our #NEOPartner, The Leadership Conference Education Fund reminds us that, "Juneteenth is not just a celebration of freedom; it's a call to action. We must ensure that all voices are heard in our democracy. The fight for the freedom to vote is crucial for safeguarding our rights and building a more just society. For democracy to work, it must include us all." Find out more here: https://lnkd.in/gy-hMtJG
