My journey with Seedly is coming to an end. 👋 It is finally time to say goodbye to this meaningful seven-and-a-half-year chapter and hand over the reins to MoneyHero Group (Nasdaq: MNY). I remember making a mid-career switch and starting from the ground up as an intern at Seedly in 2017. My mum thought I was crazy. 😂 If I may quote Steve Jobs, “You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward.” As one of the earliest members of Kenneth Lou and Tee-Ming C.’s team, I've been part of the growth story of a company that impacts the lives of one million people in Singapore every month. All these achievements would not have been possible without the hard work of our early and current team members, encouragement from our community, support from our amazing partners, and the love from family and friends. Reflecting on each milestone that Seedly has achieved, I am filled with gratitude for all the wonderful experiences and support I received throughout my journey. From being tasked with growing users on our expense tracking app back in 2016, experiencing two acquisitions with ShopBack in 2018 and MoneyHero Group in 2020, to hitting our first million visitors, launching our own travel insurance, and organizing Singapore’s largest personal finance festival—I am glad to have helped build a platform that enhances our users’ lives every day. The Seedly story will continue firmly in the safe hands of MoneyHero Group, where it will thrive under a new organizational structure. Also, a heartfelt shoutout to Evy Wee, Henry Chan, Joel Leong, Candice Ong, Rohith Murthy, Prashant Aggarwal, Shravan Thakur, Derek Fong, Thomas Kapeller, William Seow and Sandeep Krishnamani for all the guidance throughout this journey. I will be taking a break from work before embarking on my next adventure, ready to tackle the next problem to solve. 💪

New Launch Convention 2024 It all started with Melvin Lim’s vision to launch an event to showcase more than 80 projects in one day. He got Adam Piperdy and myself involved, and the rest is history. Organised by PropertyLimBrothers, Unearthed Productions and Seedly, the convention helped more than 1,000 people in Singapore make smarter personal finance decisions on their property and investments. Teamwork at its best, united by a meaningful vision and mission, I am extremely humbled by how well the three teams came together to pull off such an amazing event. Looking ahead, this partnership will pave the way for more of such meaningful community events to really help enhance the decision making process of property buyers.

I am a fan of PropertyLimBrothers' work. I first discovered their content through one of their earlier videos where they introduced a Semi-D located at Namly Place. I immediately recognized it as a high-quality piece of content. Their videos are not only informative but also engaging, taking viewers on a journey through some amazing properties. In this episode of Nuggets on the Go, I am extremely honoured to sit down with Melvin Lim to discuss topics I am passionate about. We discussed my personal job experience, including my mid-career switch to start over as an intern, as well as topics like content marketing and maintaining a growth mindset. This is probably one of the most extensive interviews I've done, allowing me to share my thoughts on growth marketing and personal finance. Melvin is a master of content creation, and having an hour on his podcast is one of the best experiences I've had.

Personal Finance 💰 x Pillars of Happiness 😊 It was an honour to deliver the opening statement at the Seedly Personal Finance Festival 2024, now Singapore's largest personal finance festival. Reflecting on our journey, it's incredible to think we started as a small community meetup with just a hundred attendees at a co-working space. Not too long ago, over a simple cup of coffee, I reflected on the past seven years with Seedly and the importance of personal finance. Good financial habits aren't just about how much you save or the returns on your investments. They're about enabling the more important things in life—happiness. There are five pillars of happiness: ⭐ Confidence, self-love, and belonging ⭐ Meaning and purpose ⭐ Freedom and independence ⭐ Physical and mental health ⭐ Positivity and optimism Interestingly, these pillars also influence life expectancy. 👴👵 Great personal finance habits support these pillars, enhancing your overall happiness and well-being.
