Month 5, Year 2024.

Month 5, Year 2024.

May has already drawn to close – and we’ve been pretty busy!

Check out what you might have missed below 👇

Roaming: We marked Skin Cancer Awareness month with the launch of our sunscreen campaign in partnership with the British Skin Foundation and Green People – in a bid to highlight sun safety this summer, alongside O2 being the only major network operator to offer inclusive EU roaming up to 25GB as standard.

You can still grab your free sunscreen case from selected O2 stores. Find out how by clicking here.

Our 150th Shared Rural Network site: Accelerating our Shared Rural Network rollout, we deployed our 150th site on the remote island of Eigg.

We continue to go further than any other operator to deliver new infrastructure as part of the Shared Rural Network programme, and our rapid rollout continues with many more sites in remote locations going live in the coming weeks.

Time After Time fund: We introduced the winners of this year’s Time After Time fund – our initiative in partnership with Hubbub to tackle e-waste & support digital inclusion.

The 8 winners were selected by a judging panel featuring George Clarke and aims to transform communities by giving tech a second life.

Sustainability Performance Update: Our latest report outlined a reduction in our operational carbon emissions (Scope 1 & 2) by 23%, the increase of our electric fleet to 281 vehicles and a whopping 250,000 devices saved from landfill through our O2 Recycle scheme.

Sense Partnership: We joined forces with Sense to help tackle chronic loneliness, as part of a new 12-month programme to invite our 15,000 employees to join their ‘Virtual Buddying’ service – supporting those who live with complex disabilities and are at risk of isolation.

Through our ‘Take Five’ employee programme, we’re aiming to support 1 million people by the end of 2025 – and this programme allows our employees to volunteer their time regardless of their location in the UK.

Exclusive Priority gig – D Block Europe: We announced an exclusive Priority gig for O2 and Virgin Media customers with D Block Europe performing at the indigo at The O2 on 6 June – a true money-can’t-buy experience for our customers.

Our Friday nights were busy in May with ITV Studio Sessions launching!

In partnership with Priority from O2 and filmed at O2 Blueroom in The O2, we went behind the scenes to provide an exclusive glimpse into what it’s like to work on the set of a brand-new music show.

Watch Part 1 and 2 here.

I fell for the O2 scam. I want to warn anyone who’s thinking of buying an Apple Watch form O2 to avoid! Never had such bad service from a mobile phone company. I wish I’d stayed with Vodafone!
