About us
Increasing equitable collaboration in finding faster solutions to the climate crisis through open access 🌎 We facilitate cooperation and coordination at the intersection of the open access and climate change movements. By focusing on removing policy and legal barriers to the accessibility of climate change research, our Campaign accelerates the shift to open access for all climate change and biodiversity research, while also providing a case study and framework for future campaigns. Open access is a necessary condition for solving the climate crisis. Without global climate solutions built on open and transparent research and data, we risk running out of time. 🌟The good news is we can fix this part of the problem🌟 Let's commit to making ALL climate research available as open access by 2030. The Open Climate Campaign is a partnership between Creative Commons, SPARC, and EIFL.

The Open Climate Campaign participated in the "Open Science, Open to the World" session at the Salon International de l'Edition et du Livre (SIEL) earlier this week that was attended by Morocco's Ministre de l'Enseignement supérieur, de la Recherche scientifique et de l'Innovation, Monsieur Abdellatif Miraoui. If you look closely, you'll see our very own Monica Granados on the stage!
VISITE DE MONSIEUR LE MINISTRE AU SALON INTERNATIONAL DE L’EDITION ET DU LIVRE (SIEL) Rabat, mercredi 15 mai 2024 Le Ministre de l’Enseignement Supérieur, de la Recherche Scientifique et de l’Innovation, Monsieur Abdellatif MIRAOUI, a effectué, mercredi 15 mai 2024, en compagnie du Ministre de la Jeunesse, de la Culture et de la Communication, Monsieur Mohammed Mehdi BENSAID, et du Ministre de la Justice, Monsieur Abdellatif OUAHBI, une visite au SIEL, dont la 29ème édition est abritée par la ville de Rabat. Cette visite a connu la participation de Monsieur le Ministre à une conférence sous le thème « Open Science, Open to the world ». A cette occasion, Monsieur MIRAOUI a souligné la forte implication du Maroc dans les initiatives internationales de l’open science , notamment l’adhésion du pays à l’initiative mondiale « Coronavirus Global Response ». Il a également ajouté que le PACTE-ESRI 2030 dans sa conception et ses objectifs inclut déjà des mesures en faveur de l’open science, à savoir, la création d’Institut Thématiques de Recherche, la digitalisation et la diffusion de la production scientifique ainsi que l’accompagnement de l’indexation de revues marocaines dans les bases de données internationales. Il sied de mentionner que cette visite a concerné essentiellement les espaces d’exposition réservés aux universités marocaines ainsi que ceux de quelques institutions publiques. Abdellatif Miraoui

Our goal is to ⤴ increase equitable collaboration in finding faster solutions to the climate crisis through open access 🌏 We provide policy roadmaps, consulting, training, & information sharing at scale for governments, funders, researchers, policy-makers, librarians, and all those working collectively to challenge the status quo so that we can provide open access to climate research. We are optimistic and also driven by a sense of urgency. Finding solutions to climate change cannot wait. ✨ The good news is, we believe we can fix this part of the problem. ✨ We are committed to steering policy change to enable open access to ALL climate change research.
