In a delightful turn of events, Queen Camilla made surprising remarks after tasting a rare whisky during an event in Edinburgh, marking the city's 900th anniversary. King Charles and Queen Camilla were the guests of honor, and their visit was filled with memorable moments that showcased Scottish culture and business.

The royal couple received a warm welcome as they explored various stalls, one of which featured a special treat: two drams of 52-year-old Macallan whisky from Duncan Taylor, an Aberdeen-based alcoholic beverages company.

Camilla, elegantly dressed in a mint green Anna Valentine design, savored her sip and was overheard exclaiming, "That hits the spot. That hits the spot," according to the Telegraph.

Evan Robertson, Duncan Taylor's director, shared that "The King was over the moon about the whisky," while Kevin Alston, the company's marketing manager, added, "Camilla was encouraging him. She waited for him to join her and knew he would be cross if she drank it without him!"

The King knows how to connect with people

The day was packed with activities for the royals. King Charles, donning his King Charles III Tartan kilt, participated in a Ceremony of The Key at Edinburgh Castle. As they made their way to Crown Square, the City of Edinburgh Band played a piece composed by Pipe Major Iain Lowther titled "King Charles III Welcome to Edinburgh Castle."

Despite the brisk wind and brief rain showers, the spirits remained high. Camilla humorously remarked, "I'm hanging onto my umbrella," while Charles jested with a guest, "I hope you don't get blown away!"

In a touching moment, one onlooker inquired about the King's health following his cancer diagnosis, to which the 75-year-old monarch responded, "Not too bad."

The King's body language was very revealing

Body language expert Darren Stanton, speaking on behalf of Betfair Live Casino, noted that King Charles was "having fun" and "really enjoying this moment." He observed, "King Charles was walking along, speaking with people very openly and interacting with active listening. His whole face was engaged and he walked with a lot of strength and inner confidence."

Stanton also highlighted a heartwarming scene where Charles interacted with a dog seeking attention. "Charles then made a fuss of him, and this was great to see. We saw the King have fun and break away from his normal character. We saw him be his true self in public. You could tell he was really enjoying this moment as he was able to relax and let go."

The event in Edinburgh was not only a celebration of the city's rich history but also a testament to the royal couple's ability to connect with the public and enjoy the festivities in a genuine and heartfelt manner.
