Month after month, the Social Security Administration (SSA) distributes Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) in stages to around 7.4 million beneficiaries. If you are one of them, continue reading to find out if you are one of those eligible to receive your payment this Wednesday.
The SSA payment schedule distributes SSDIbenefits according to recipients' date of birth. Under this regulation, beneficiaries who were born between the 1st and 10th receive their payment on the second Wednesday of the month; those born between the 11th and the 20th receive it on the third Wednesday; if you were born between the 21st and the 31st, they pay you the fourth Wednesday.
This Wednesday, May 15, beneficiaries born between the 11th and 20th of the month will receive their payment.
What is the May payment schedule?
Beneficiaries whose date of birth is between the 1st and the 10th received their payment on May the 8th. Those born between the 21st and the 31st will receive their deposit on May the 23rd.
If you have been receiving SSDI since before May 1997 or if you also receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits, your SSDI payment is scheduled for the 1st of each month.
If you don't receive your payment on the scheduled date, the SSA recommends waiting three mailing days before going to your nearest Social Security office. It also recommends contacting your bank first to make sure there aren't any problems on their end.
SSDI is a fundamental part of the income of millions of beneficiaries, who use the funds to supplement their monthly expenses and those of their families.
