How are Tom Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion, and Barack Obama two-time President of the United States, similar? According to an NFL analyst the pair share many similar traits such as both enjoy the limelight of fame.
Brady is regarded as the greatest NFL quarterback of all-time after winning six rings with the New England Patriots' dynasty whilst Obama became the first President of color in American history as both proved to be highly successful in their respective vocations.
But the jobs of the pair don't seem to have a lot of obvious translatable qualities, so how does Colin Cowherd, an NFL analyst, believe the 46-year-old Brady and 62-year-old Obama mirror each other?
"I know somebody that knows President Barack Obama, former president, pretty well, and they both have the same trait," Cowherd said on his podcast. "Everybody wants a picture; everybody wants to say 'Hi. I remember this game.'"
So, it appears that both the athlete and POTUS enjoy the limelight and fame of being two of the most famous people within the US and the wider world, and both remain influential voices within their respective disciplines.
Obama occasionally weighs in on modern politics through his social media accounts of which he has millions of followers, whilst Brady is about to try his hand at analysis for FOX Sports for the upcoming NFL season so what does Cowherd think of the latter's ability to be a pundit?
"Tom is a highly functional, very normal, incredibly thoughtful guy," Cowherd added. "As I sat there for the interview, he has a personality trait that I've always admired in people.
"Anything you asked Tom about football, anything-I was throwing these goofy theories I have-he's thought about it."
This isn't the first time Cowherd has compared the 2008-2016 POTUS and the 2000-2022 football player.
In the past, Cowherd suggested the pair both share a quest for knowledge, describing Obama as a "readaholic", although they do have different personalities.
"One is obsessed, one is loosely goosey," Cowherd said, comparing the two around November 2022. "It's like certain presidents..."
